When do I feel normal?

I have been off opiates for 35 days. I am past the physical symptoms of with drawals but now I am feeling very low. My energy level isn't good and I want to know if there is anyone out there who can talk to me about this.

i felt different from others
ever since i was a child
so i guess it will depend on how you were before drugs
before drugs i had problems sleeping, social anxiety and a few learning disibilities
so when i got clean
i went back to that normal
i worked the steps on most of that stuff
now fear has been replaced with faith
but if i was to get clean  without a recovery plan, i am sure i would remain the same, no matter how many days clean i had

How long did it take you to feel that "normal" feeling again?  I'm in day 2 of a 4 day norco habit.  Went c/t and stop drinking sodas right along with it.  Not sure which one i'm feeling the worse from.  At day 2 i'm afraid of not liking the person I am when i'm completely straight.  probably part of the lure but feels real...

I totally agree with you....I know i will never get the energy i had before, because it was the pills...So sometimes we have to try to remember what we felt like before pills and that is what we will get after time...I had to stop waiting for THAT energy again....It was not normal , and that is why i kept taking them....then we find out it takes more and more and never get that feeling back like we first started and keep trying, but never going to happen...
So i am taking what energy i have , although i know it will get some what better, but never like that again...and i have accept that....

I have been taking Suboxone for 2 weeks now.  My doctor said that addiciton and depression go hand in hand and that once I have detox. my underlineing depression may start to emerge.  That may be whats happening to you.  Are you seeing a therapist? Maybe you could talk to your doctor about the possability of having depression. Just a thought.  Good Luck!

completely normal.  The energy and the "feeling happy again" all come back in spurts at first, then more and more.  I'm right there with ya!

I think that sometimes an addicts perception of whats normal may be a little off and their expectations of feeling "normal" are off kilter. Normal people wake up with aches and pains and lack of energy is obviously an issue or red bull and other manufactureres of energy drinks wouldnt be making a bundle. Yes I know that just days or weeks off drugs your probably at your lowest point health wise but energy wise we"ll never feel like we did on pills,,that wasnt normal. Hang in there ,,35 days is awesome and natalie you keep going,,keep up your determination and things will get better.
