Why are 3, 4, 5 year old threads coming up?

if your using the "search" feature, be careful that youre not adding to a REALLY old thread.  You'll get MUCH better information by just starting a new thread..

It is the wealth of info and all the 'meta tags' that helps people find this forum when they do a search on Google. Usually it is a new person looking for help. It is then all of our jobs to help them to start a new thread.

There is no way to control its what happens is people google search something on addiction and it pulls up old posts they post on the thread and it kicks them up to the top of the forum

Sometimes it is good to "bump" the old threads back up because they have useful information in them, but I do see where you are coming from TrayCee.  Another forum I was a member off would be deleted if there was no activity on it after a certain amount of time.  I like that too.  I guess we could always suggest it to Med help and see what happens.

not everyone is computer savy when they stumble on this site..like I did back in Jan..it doesn't take much to just answer an old post that someone stumbles on and direct them...just like I did...I had NO idea what a "thread" was when i first was on this site..i didn't even know what LOL meant..not a big deal..
