Why can't I sleep since off suboxone....

I have been addicted to oxycontin and methadone for about a year. I just recently moved across country with my dad to get away from a bunch of things back home in fl. I was on suboxone for about 4 days before I left, then I just quit off everything cold turkey..The suboxone helped me not get to sick the first few days, but I have been in Arizona for about a week and I still can't sleep. When will I be able to sleep normal again?

It does come but it takes time. Sub is a drug too. Now without drugs, your body has to re-normalize.

4 days really isnt long enough for this to be caused from the sub...but what you are experiencing is classic from getting clean from any drug...especially methadone..how long has it been since you last used? before the sub?  methadone?
if you are past the withdrawals, then sleep issues and fatigue are usually the ones that seem to hang on for the longest...but do know it does go away...give it some time hun...also there are some vitamins, amino acids that can help with your recovery, melatonin can help with sleep...read directions and follow to a tee...
goingtomakeit...arent you the go to person for this type of information?

I would try taking melatonin at night for sleep. The normal dose is 1-3mg but try 9-10. As soon as you fell sleepy go to bed. Sleep in a dark room. Take a look at the Health Pages near the top right of page there is a link. Look up amino acids.
Aslo taking brisk walks helps to tire the muscles and body so you can sleep.
