Withdrawal from fentanly and dilaudid

This is nikilee and I will try to be short.  I am almost 10 weeks out from an accident that gave me multiple breaks in my pelvis and 6 broken ribs.  I have been trying to wean off of narcotics, mostly because my orthopedic doctor doesn't like them.  I came home from the hospital on a 75mcg. fentanyl patch and a bottle of dilaudid pills (2mg).

I took my last dilaudid about a week ago.  (Actually, not true.  I was feeling so bad this morning when I woke up that I took .5mg  and now feel bad that I gave in).  Last Friday, I went down to a 50mcg patch.

After feeling quite good over the weekend, and actually doing housework and light yard work for the first time since the accident...I woke up this morning feeling awful.  My legs hurt and were in spasms, I feel very agitated and unable to concentrate.  Is this withdrawal?  Does everyone go through withdrawal?  Does anything make it better?

I know this is such a minor problem compared to what many of you are going through.  But I ask you to bear with me and help me know what to expect.  It has just come as such a surprise, since I WAS feeling so good.

Thank you for any help/advice.

Hi...I was also on the patch (50mg) and they are tough to come off.  I used percocets to wean myself off the patches and then tapered the percocets....took me 3.5 weeks altogether.

Take Care,

Guy

Yes it sounds like w/d.
Not sure with a broken pelvis. You may want to ask you doc.
My advise is try your hardest to get off the meds if you can deal with the pain.
