Withdrawal from oxycontin

I'm a 28 yr old male and otherwise healthy. About three yrs ago I tore the miniscus in my right knee and was prescribed 750 mg vicodens they hardely helped with the pain and my doctor moved my script to 40 mg oxycontin which helped greatly. I was taking my meds as directed at first but soon went through my monthly script in 10-14 days.I was buying 80's from a work friend and after my surgery was well into the thrawls of addiction. The withdrawels were hell but I made it through cold turkey .Now I've started again. My father suffered a stroke this last feb.and is paralyzed completly on the right side of his body. He went into septic shock 2 days before christmas and it doesent look like he is going to make it. He is going home to our heaveny Father. I have been taking anything I can get my hands on but have ready access to oxy. I am about 12hrs. Into my w/d and feel like absolute crude. Can't keep anything down and have hot cold chills. Does anyone know if there is anything legal that can help me get through this. Prayer helps but let's be real it doesn't take away this awful pain. I'm out of work and have a fience who is four months pregnant. If she found out she would probably leave me and rightfully so.Please God does anyone have any advice for me? How long will this last for? I know I never should have started using again for coping or any other reason. This is the most god awefull sick I have ever been. Thank you from Phx. Az

Thank you all very much. I am ending day two and wasn't able to keep much down but stayed hydrated. The imodium is probably the best so far other than hot water.this is the worst thing I've evr felt. Thanks for the support.I did read the thomas recipe truama, it is the best advice I've found so far. I plan on staying sober and keeping up with the disscusion boards and na/ca in a week or so. Good thing is I don't feel like smoking much. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. Please anyone who reads this don't use opiates unless you absolutly have to and I deff. wouldn't rec. using recreationally.

I know your pain. Don't spend your money on expensive detix pills. My reg doc prescribed me Hydroxyz generic for Atarax and it calms withdraws and anxiety. It is really cheap to buy with no health insurance. Has really helped me to overcome these demons.

Hi-  I'm so sorry about your Dad. That's a tough one...

You didn't mention how much you were taking this last time or for how long...

If you can get an rx for phenergan,that will help the N&V.Otherwise:Peptobismal.
Get Immodium for diarrhea.
You really have to force fluids. Dehydration will make you feel worse.
As Trama said above,hot baths help the aches along with Advil.
You're not going to feel very well but push through it. Your family needs you.
Buy some Melatonin to help you sleep and get some Valerian root which will calm you a bit.

Hi!  Have you read the Thomas recipe?  Its in the health pages. Hot baths really help. I'd also take some imodium and 800mg of advil about 3 times a day.  Push fluids and eat crackers and soup til you feel better.
