Withdrawing from Dilaudid

I was released from the hospital 4 weeks ago when I was taking 18 mg/daily of dilaudid.  I've tapered myself down and am now taking just 1 mg in the morning and 1 mg at night.  If I cut it completely tomorrow, will I have withdrawal symptoms?
I could ask my doctor but for personal reasons I'd rather do this myself.

Wow...55 mg/day...that'll be a challenge to get off of! The question is, are you feeling better and not needing the dilaudid anymore?  That  was my case and I want to start driving again which you can't/shouldn't do on dilaudid.
I went from 3 mg/ 4 times a day to 2 mg/4 times a day and then every 6 hrs, then down to one every 6 hrs then just twice a day.  This wasn't the doctor's orders; I just worked out what I could do.  If I have pain now, I just take advil.
I hope you start feeling better soon so that you can start tapering off!  Good luck!
Oh, yes...withdrawal symtoms...yes...nausea, headache, depression, but none of those symptoms were too intense.

Good for you so far! Can I ask what your exact taper was? I am interested on getting off this med too... I take about 55 mg per day. I am wondering how much and how quickly you reduced. Have you noticed many WD symptoms thus far? I have run low on my meds before and had to really reduce at the end of the month and the WD would come on quite fast and furious. Can you reduce to a half mg before taking the plunge?? I am very interested in what happens. Sorry I can't be of more help...   How do you invite someone to be your friend on this site? I don't want to lose you because it will be very helpful for me to hear about your experience. I hope you don't mind I am asking you for help when you are the one asking the question!!
