Withdrawl Diarrhea?!?!

Sorry if anyone has just had lunch lol But i'm 18 days clean from Methadone (YAY) But wondering if anyone can tell me when the "loose" stools begin to subside. I know the toxins need a way out, but I hate having this!!! I'm from New Orleans & LOVE my cajun food, but i'm scared to eat it!! lol Should I be taking something to help along my GI tract?? Any suggestions would be great :) Thank you bunches!!! Jewlz

Congrats on clean time!!! methadone is a real B****! It is great that you are off it. I've been off for 133 days and still have loose stools and avoid spicy foods. Occasionally it' will harden up but mostly loose, very loose! (Definitely TMI) I figure I stayed constipated on methadone for 5 years so it takes time to get back to "normal". Congrats again.TEENA

Ohhh your poor little butt :(  I know this part is no fun but it should subside here shortly.  If it doesnt give your doctor a call and tell him what is going on.  Our bodies go thru some really bad stuff before it gets better.  I remember not being able to sneeze safely for quite some time!!!  TMI??  YEP!!!!

congrats on the 18 days. the stomach issues can definitely last awhile not to discourage you anymore but  when my husband detoxed from methadone last year he has been clean for 16 months yea . he had issues for a few months not everyday but yes it lasted. you just have to ride it out. i would hold off on the cajun for a bit.,spicy definitely aggravates it.
BRAT diet = bananas, rice, applesauce, toast,  this helps.
cheese and dairy products are also binding.
keep the faith, keep on keeping on

Wow.........I didn't look at it like that!  I guess I saw it as needing to take immodium until my system became used to not having the meds, and then it would all even out, and I'd be able to stop it????  It worked for me.  See, I think that the toxins pretty much leave quickly especially with the amount of sweating and diarrhea are involved in that first week, but I may be wrong.  I would get up in the morning and see if the diarrhea started.  I would take some if it did, and I didn't take any if not.  Some days I would go an entire day before it started and some was like NON STOP!

Ok, carry on!  :)  Not trying to sick anyone out!! LOL  Good luck sweetie!

Immodium AD is great for the stomach issues - there's an opiate in it (not to sorry as it doesn't cross the blood barrier) but it will help calm the stomach down (lots of receptors in our stomachs).  Hang in and keep going!
