Withdrawl from fentanyl

How do you decrease your dosage. It is a big jump from 100 mcg to 75 and then 50 and then 25, and then what then.
I have weaned my self of many type of pain meds.But never from continuous. It is a large dose to go up. How do you go down. Can i cut my patches. They say not to, but how else do I do it. I want answers before I go see my doctor.

They also make a 12.5 mg patch........standard school of thought is to drop your dose by 10-20% every 7-10 days..... You dont want to cut the patches - there is a risk of overdose when you cut a time release medication and it is all absorbed at once......Using the various strength patches you should be able to arrive at a taper...  Or your Doc may want to put you on a different med to taper down...

Ive heard of people folding their patches.  I just came off fentanyl myself after being on it 2 months.....long enough for an addict I might add.  My stopped wearing my patch last Thursday and Im just now starting to feel somewhat better.  I never dropped to the 12.5 mcg patch.  I stopped at the 25, but like I said I heard of people folding them.  Be careful and follow Drs.

Can i go from 100 mcg to a75 and 12.5? Do they have this in Canada?
