Yes I agree not sure yet my kids want me to workout with them but I thought about picking up sailing this summer. I am worried about not remembering how bad I felt !?!
You need to somehow convince yourself that it's no different than having the flu. If you can do that you're home free from the physical issue but what about the mental addiction, what's your plan for that?
I hate to say this but most people that get through the physical withdrawals fall prey to the mental aspect of it. Your mindset will be that you made it through the withdrawal process so you can now take one every now and then and be fine. It doesn't work. Before you know it you'll be right back in the same boat.
Right now you need to get your mind focused on something completely new to you. Develop a new hobby and throw yourself into it, gardening worked for me. The key is to keep your mind thinking about anything other than the pills. An idle mind is a sure step to a relapse, don't let it happen, get yourself involved in something that'll keep your mind, and to a lesser extent, your body occupied. Good luck!
Thanks everyone I have taken lots of showers and felling a bit better at the 44th hour and doing better than this morning. Still can't believe that I got hooked screw this I've stopped smoking I can do this! No questions right now but again thanks for all the support!
Treat your symptoms as they come. It truly will get better. If we can get thru wd's, so can you. We are equals, none of us any better than the next. Keep hydrated and again, Epsom salt baths are phenomenal...as hot, as long, and as many as you can. You reminded me of getting to work during wd's with my hands contorted thinking "wth???". You will get thru the physical wd's. We are here to support you. Keep pushing forward!
Put a cool cloth on your face
K I'm be to this and not very IT savvy feeling miserable again like my face is on fire
PS..I noticed you have another post going..Try to stick to one for right now so you can get more replies..OK. This happens all the time and it does take time to get to know the site.
Hi..The new recipe does not have the Benzo in it..Try to stay away from that one. You can get all kinds of Calm me down teas or Vit or powder. Get some powder called CALM..It has magnesium in it and this helps draw out poison too.
Best thing is to drink lots of water and you can also add some Electrolyte powders or C, B, etc in the water. You can find these in a Box in packets in almost any store.
The Biggest thing is to give this TIME and with this comes some PATIENCE. Just take it min by min now and try your hardest to re-direct yourself from your thinking. Get out for a walk, hit some meetings a few a day and blast the music and dance..ha! Anything you like to do..Do Not sit and Dwell on what is next!! Just get on your surf board and ride the Waves..soon you will be walking on the beach with your head held high.
Make sure you do have some out side Support because part of your Brain will be playing tricks and calling for more. Be Safe!
Bless
Thanks for the post feeling ok right now just awaiting the next wave of hell to come on. I will look up the Thomas recipe.
Hi And Welcome!!!! And Congrats to you on taking a huge step and getting your life back!!!! You will no regret this I promise you. Though you may feel like crap now It will get better and beettteeerrrrr!!!!! :-)
I would expect to feel under the weather for about a week (physical w/d) compare it to having the flu. There is a link at the bottom of this page it is called the "Thomas Recipe" there are many things you can do to help the wd's feel more comfortable. Hot Epsom salt baths are the best when you are achy and just great overall. Drink LOTS of fluids, even though you my not feel like it, you must stay hydrated. Also small meals if you can, even some soup or toast. Also try to get up and move as much as possible, it will help. Music is also a great way to distract yourself and get out of your head!
Vitamins too check out the Thomas recipe it will suggest which ones you should take.
