Withdrawling from Pain Pills

Withdrawling from Pain Pills

I am on my 2nd day of withdrawling from pain pills. I am a mother of 2 young children & work full time. I can't deal with this. I've heard of some med that you can get to help w/the symptoms. If I go to the ER can i get help. I don't have insurance

What were you taking and how much, how long?

Its likely the worst will be over in a few days, I know you feel like you are dying but it WILL get better soon. The worst day for most people is the third one if that helps. There are a number of things that can help, see the health pages, top right of this page for the Thomas Receipe and other good info.

What are your worst WD symptoms right now? People here can make good suggestions to help manage those with more info. If you need to take time off work your external symptoms will be looking a lot like Flu and that can be used as cover story if you cannot handle work right now.

In any case good luck, don't do anything rash, you can beat this.

Congrats on day 2...take as many hot showers or baths. drink gatorade or powerade. bananas are good for RLS or there is an otc called restful leg that works good. exercise when you can. but then again chasing after 2 little ones is the same. :) Getting outside for fresh air helps. Anything to keep your mind off of the withdraws. and don't forget to eat, even when you don't feel like it. oh yeah, you might need to get some immodium too.  good luck, remember you are almost there...

you can do it.  day 2-4 are the hardest, and you are doing great.
hang in there.  I'm 7 days ct off 15-20 vics a day and starting to see a bit of the light at the end of the tunnel.    best to you.   I'm off to work and would rather not be, but I think it is better then staying home thinking about my problems and discomfort.

Hey there. I've been where you are and I will tell you that the ER won't do anything for you, and if you have your kids with you, they may get CPS involved if they think you are not well enough to care for them. Do you have anyone who can take the kids for the day so you can rest? The above suggestions for the withdrawals are very good, and true. Keep up the good fight, it will be so worth it very soon.

you hold tuff....the hardest thing to handle is the mental end....you know how when you really need a pill and you know its on its way, the simply act of knowing that you will get the relief helps , and that is because it is a mind game.....right now you are simply being outplayed......Think of how it will feel to beat something so few can......I wish i was in your shoes know....but that does you no good....dont let anyone call you a bad parent or a bad person because in order to get things right in your world you have to get you feeling normal and you are not far.......please be tuff.....if for no other reason than to beleive at least one other person is sitting on the bed crying and looking for a friend instead of a pill........
