Worried about overdosing

I overdosed on Tylenol yesterday and now I realized I don't want to die but I'm too afraid to tell my parents. What should I do?

What exactly do you mean by "I overdosed on Tylenol"?  Most Tylenol capsules are 500mg's...  Did you take more than 8-10 of them?  Why do you need that much Tylenol?  What makes you think that you overdosed?

no I haven't told anyone yet I just threw up so my mom thinks I have a stomach flu or something

I took 12 because I was depressed but I'm not anymore I just don't know what to do. I know I need to go to the hospital but I don't know how I'm gonna tell my parents.

wheni was 16 my granny died and i just had come out of a long term relationship (dumped) and i tried to committ suicide with tylenol i took 25 500mgs i laid down in the bad and waited for death when my brother came and laid in the other bed in the room i then realized i have screwed up, beacuse i was only thinking of myself yes it was bad times, but i didnt need to make it worse for everyone else, hell they all lost granny just as i had, two deaths doesnt make it better. how many did you take? 25 made me sick as hell for 3 days and the doctor put me on zoloft for depression, just remember you may be really badly hurting, but overdosing will only spread the hurt and make it worse. oh yea your other question your parents, i didnt tell my mom i said im really sick and need to go to the doctor, no one ever knew, and im never going to tell them

You need to go talk to your mom. Don't be afraid. Remember, mom loves you and she may get mad at first, but she wants the best for you and she will help you. If you really, really feel like you can't talk with her, then find someone. Someone at school?? Teacher maybe??

yeah i took twelve wednesday morning and 10 tuesday night. I then realized I was being selfish and i came home from school with an upset stomach but my mom doesnt know why (even though I do) but ill probably tell her i need to go to the hospital soon because I was reading about it and i really dont want anything bad to happen.

after i went to the doctor all they prescribed me was something for the nausea (i threw up on the doctor lol) but aside from that i was sick for a couple days i might have done permanent damage i dunno its been almost ten years and i think im fine lol you might want to tell someone just in case they will be helpful im sure

if you go to the hospital they will do an acetaminophen level on you and probably give you some activated charcoal to save your liver. you really do need to tell someone. please get some help today.

If you took 12 tablets... that is 6000mg's... Enough to make you sick but probably not near enough to kill you.  There are people on this forum who have had a 20,000mg+ (a day) diet of tylenol by taking a HUGE amount of pain pills EVERY day...  Are they damaging their liver?  More than likely but they aren't dead.  I doubt very seriously that you need to worry about overdosing but I think there is a much bigger issue at hand other than the fact that you ate 12 tylenols....

The fact that you are depressed enough to take Tylenol is what worries me.  Did you think that the Tylenol would help your depression?  Have you taken other drugs as well?  If you are that depressed then you need professional help and I'm sure that your mom would help you with that.  Well, I'm not sure but any parent who cares about their kid certaily would help.  Did you take the pills hoping to overdose or did you take them for attention?  I only ask because it is quite common for people to take an abundance of pills so that they are "heard"  Make sense?  

Please.... pretty, pretty please talk to your mom.  It would make her sick if something were to happen to you... You really need to talk to her or maybe someone else that is available?  Please keep us updated.... You don't have a pill problem!  You have another problem that can be treated but only if you seek it....

Hon,if you are still here please talk to us.If not I hope it is because you have told someone and are on your way to the ER.If you're still here you can talk to us about ANYTHING,there is no judging here,no one here will condemn you.Being 15 isn't easy at all,the majority of us know that,but no matter what has happened to cause you to do this,it's not worth risking your life for.There are solutions to situations hon.We're all addicts here.We've all felt depressed and hopeless at times.I know I did,but these people here helped me to see that NOTHING is hopeless,things can change,sometimes you just need a little help and a little guidance to understand that,to realize it.We all need that sometimes.

when i was 14, i tried to kill myself using tylenw would have been a success, but i called my friends mom who was a nurse because i got scared
i have to get my stomach pumped
and monitored after that
trust me when i tell you this, i am a paramedic, i deal with overdoses all the time
you must have blood work done
you are still in the danget zone
tell you mom, or a friends mom, or call 922 on your own
nothing bad will happen to you

Sam,if you do come back around,can you let us know that you're ok.There are also some teen forums here at MH,kids your age who are probably going through some of the same things you are.Honey,most of the times things are not as bad as they seem when your all caught up in emotion,right there in the midst of going through it.It helps so much to reach out and talk to someone who can relate to what you're feeling and who sees things clearer then we do in that moment,without all the emotion.My prayer for you is that you find contentment and peace,that you reach out and allow others to help you,and that you live a long happy productive life.Peace and love.....Kim
