Wow

Well, I've only taken 4mg of Sub today and I feel so great!  I'm almost feeling like I don't need it.  I've not felt this good in so long not even when I was taking 30+ 10mg Norcos a day.  I feel confident I'm going to be able to get off this soon too.
Thank you so much to everyone who has been so supportive.  In reading your posts to me and to others I find so much strength.  God Bless you all!

yes, my doctor also felt strongly to only take once a day for that exact reason.  To break those habits.  It's hard though. At the lower doses for some reason at 8:00 I get strong thoughts about using.  Don't know if you'd call them cravings.  that time was when I would also get the worse w/d symptoms when I went c/t too.  .

My doctor told me to take it as I need it - I want to be on a schedule because taking it kind of "whenever" feels too much like the way I took the other stuff.  But, if I don't need it, I won't be taking it.  I didn't take any at bedtime tonight and I'm restless and can't sleep so I'm thinking I'll take 2mg now - it's 1230a here and I've been in bed for over an hour tossing and turning.  But I like your doc's thought pattern - taking it all at once so that it is like any othe rmed.  I'm really hoping I only need it once a day.  But all the literature says take it according to cravings and withdrawal symptoms in the lowest possible dose.    Hope that helps - thanks for your input.

hey just a question...will you continue to take your sub the way you are now, in 2-3 doses throughout the day for the whole time while your on the sub?  i did that for the induction stage only...then my doctor told me that once i "found "my appropriate dose...that i should take it all at once...so it is breaking the habit of thinking about having to take pills  to avoid withdrawals throughout the day (which is what i was practicing while in full blown addiction), i will only have to think about it just that once...has anyone else heard of this type of dosing and why some doctors say its best if taken that way?  it does kind of make sense to me, and so far it is working for me...but it seems a lot of suboxone patients take small doses 2-4 times daily...just curious to anyones thoughts on this...thanks...

congratulations!  It's a wonderful feeling when you finally get that sub dosage right and feel better than you ever have (even when using).  Don't be in a rush to get off.  I know there's a lot of people who feel it should only be used short term but the studies show that longer term is your best chance at staying clean after you get off.  Whatever you decide to do, you should feel great about the progress you've made and don't even feel bad about not being totally "clean".  You're not abusing drugs, you're not doing all the things you had to before to get your drugs (stealing, lying, whatever).

Again, congrats

The doctor really just sent me home and said go by symptoms.  Yesterday I started with 4mg, then 4 hrs later 2mg and then got really nauseated.  I got some Phenergan in me and then was able to eat and drink.  No more nausea since I first started.  I took 2mg last night at about 10pm as I was feeling some cravings.  Today i got up and took 2mg and then 4hrs later 2 more.  I'm trying to keep on a schedule, rather than popping them like I did the other drugs but I really don't feel like I need any more right now so I'm going to wait.  He said I could take up to as much as 24mg per day but so far, haven't needed it.  I'll keep you all posted on how it goes.  I am very aware that Suboxone is still an opoid and I won't be sober till I'm off, but it feels so much better to be open and honest about it with myself, my  husband and my doctor than the norco and oxy habit.  Thanks to all of you.
