XANAX withdrawal

A friend has been abusing xanax....upwards of 10mg a day...for a few months.  Weened herself down to....over 2 weeks....to 1 to 2 a day.   But hasn't had any for 3 days. She not feeling well today...anxious...panicky...shakey (shaky)....etc.   Any thoughts on how long these withdrawal symptoms will last will last?  She re-entered a 12 step program 2 weeks ago...and trying to get off these pills entirely.

Are you saying she was on 1 to 2 mgs a day? then went c/t?
If so she maybe should of weaned down to almost nothing, with the help of a doctor...Benzos are so dangerous to come off of...I went c/t off of klonopin and it was so much worst then coming off of opiates...just a whole different feeling that is hard to explain...The panic attacks were terrible, insides shaking etc...
Good to hear she is in a program....
but like i did not talk to a dr when i did this and did not read up on it...So i just thought i was dying, are just having terrible panic attacks 24 hours a day...NO sleep at all..
If i were her , i would have done a long taper....
