Xanax I've made it

Hello all just wanted to say thank you to many of you for the help through last 8 months or so. This place has been of great help to me. I am 80 days and counting off Xanax and Benzo's finally after years taking them. If I can get off these things anyone can I am here to tell you. I did it the careful way I ween myself off them per doctor orders and worked now it wasn't easy but I made it. I didn't sleep hardly at all for month but I have now found good sleep again like I use to when I was young and not taking nothing for sleep.  Any questions please ask I'll be happy to answer.

how many and how often were you taking them proir to quitting?

I was taking anywhere from 5-10 a day of 1mg and that was must then started taper down and I'm so glad I did I wouldn't wish benzo's on anyone they are awful..

That's a lot of xanax you were taking and good for you getting off and for 80 days wow thats fantastic. I think once people are off benzo's, the craving to take them again is much less than the narcotic pain meds. Did you have a lot of anxiety and thats why you started or was it for recreation??

I started taking them by a doctor for anxiety and after yrs started taking more and more. After I got off them felt anxiety but after month I feel better and believe that my old doc was over giving me on meds he wrote me 3x day 1mg to come off and need Zero means something

I am 23 and recently quit painkillers and have always had anxiety but it has gotten really bad lately and I am seeing a doctor tomorrow. I am wondering if I should even start taking a benzo seeing my additive personality and whatnot but I really need the relief. It runs in my family and my mom takes ativan and has given me a few and they have really helped. I just don't want to end up back where I was with a even harder addiction to quit. The doctor also wants me to start antidepressant, I am scared of that too. But i want to feel good. What should i do?

CUDOS to you girlee, I to have been on zanex for anxiety for 3 yrs after im done with the methadone its my next demon to fight i usuly only take 1 or 2 a day, my script says
up to 3 a day ......today is going to be a 3 day the methadone w/d has been ruff
today every time i drop ,day 3 su##s but hey its almost evening here in phx...az
so im almost thew it again congads on getting free of benzo's
