Xanax Withdrawl(withdrawal)?

Ok.so I have bad panic disorder and I take Xanax 2mg (bars) and i was wondering if it would be ok to start weaning myself off of them and just take 1/2' everyday? im just scared ill have a seizure or somoething cause thats what i keep hearing..I cant go to the doctor right now i have no insurance so if anyone knows if i will be ok let me know..

Hi - withdrawal from benzo's (Xanax is one) should always be done as a slow taper - I would recommend contacting a pharmacist for a taper schedule, or perhaps someone here will pipe in with some advice but don't go cold turkey.  You need to taper.  Good luck to you and keep watching because I know someone here will offer some advice.

You have to taper meds like xanax very very slowly... there is a risk for seizures and also just general awful withdrawl (withdrawal) symptoms if you cut down too fast.. it would be best if you saw a doctor for a taper schedule but maybe someone here can help if they have gone threw it
