Xanax withdrawl?

I'm taking xanax to help w/ vicodin withdrawl.  I break it into 4ths and take 1/4 throug out the day, and 1 bar to help me sleep.  Please don't tell me that I'm going to go through w/drawls from this drug too! does this always happen?

It wasn't a dctr, i just needed some help w/ my anxeity and i needed help to sleep, i take them in 4ths during the day and usually a whole one at night. They do not get me high, they just help take the shakes off, and help me sleep.  I plan to leave them alone very very soon.  I have only 1 bar left, but i know my bf has more if i need it.  I'm the type of person that has to sleep or I'm **** the next day.  I know my body, and I don't think I'm addicted to xanax.  It's the fuckin Vicodin I'm addicted to, and I'm just doing this for the first couple of weeks to help me sleep, and calm down.  Thanks for the advice about the panic attacks.  I hope that doesn't happen, but I really haven't been taking more than 2 bars per day, so I think/hope/pray that I'll be ok.  Good news............DAY 5 no vicodin.  (and it's not like I couldn't get them either, they were offered to me by my bf he has some, but i turned him down, and told him to never ever give them to me again.  I'm feeling a little better too!  I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and am so ready for beautiful sobriety again.  I've been ****** up for 4 months, I'm ready to be a good mom again, because I sure am a ****** mom when i'm messed up.  This isn't my first battle with these ******* pills either, i've went through this **** many times before, but I hope to GOD it's my last round.

Who suggested you take xanax one of the most addictting drugs on the market for opiate withdrawals? Because the last thing you need is a dual addiction. It could'nt have been an md. How many days are one now without vicodin, Are you really trying to go cold turkey or are you trying to stay as comfortable as you can until its time to re-up w/your DR, If you should become dependant on xanax it takes months to taper down from them, How many bars did you score? When there gone leave them alone. What your going though now is a picinic compared to kicking a benzo habit!
As long as you don't stay on them longer than 2 weeks because your taking a large dose 4mg, it takes people years to work up to that kind of dose, The starting dose through a MD is .25 to.5 thats a quarter mg to a half md usually 2per day sometimes 3 per day, Please be very careful with them 1mg at bedtime should hold you as they work for 6 hrs they are a very short acting benzo. Make sure you have enough to ween down! you could be setting yourself up for panic attacks once you run out Good Luck

Ummm....tough question to answer. It depends on how long you intend to take that dose. As soon as you feel ready, try taking half a "bar" or 1mg at bedtime. Don't suddenly just stop taking it!
