Zyban

by micah, May 30, 2001 12:00AM
I just read your response to the comments of blacking out when using alcohol and taking Zyban.  My question is this:  How long do the effects of Zyban stay in the body after you quit taking it?  Simply put:  How long (days?) should a person wait after taking Zyban before drinking any alcohol?

I really don't know the answer to your question.  I wouldn't imagine it stays in your system for too long a period.
Be careful because alcohol is a depressant, which i'm sure you are aware of.  Don't drink to replace the need of an antidepressant because it will only make you feel worse in the long-run.
Why stop the Zyban?  Just curious, are you feeling better, have you consulted with your dr about stopping the Zyban.  Any antidepressant isn't good to just stop abutly even if you feel you no longer need it.  It may be working, and that's why you feel better, so be careful.
My husband takes antidepressants, and when he forgets to take them, he goes into a tailspin at a rapid rate.
Not really clear on your circumstances, but wanted to point out a few facts that might be helpful to you.
Good luck!
Jenny
