about subs

am starting subs. how long should I wait after taking my last oxy. took 10 mgs this am and hope it is my last; have used up to 60mg oxy or percocet or vicodin, whatever is available over last three years after all kinds of health problems and surgeries. went to treatment twice in two years and started using right away or soon thereafter. want to quit so got ahold of sub dr.

Yes a 60 mg a day is horrible. I was in 30-day treatment for opiate addiction in October, just 2 months ago! I had withdrawals that went from being jolted by heat for about 20 minutes then like stuck in a freezer and shivering cold then pain would run through my body and come out my two fingers. They gave us subs for 7 days It was like a miracle. I used when I got out and have used every day since. I realized treatment was not doing it for me so I decided to be on subs for awhile. there is something very wrong with me and I hope I can figure it our before this addiction kills me

a 60mg a day habit is not really a suboxone type habit?  or have things changed a bit since my day?  I would think there wld be very little wd without sub, perhaps a mild flu like wd...but nuttin to warrant taking a narcotic as powerful as sub.  Fear can dig deep holes for folks...just be safe

The longer the better. I know it's tough but you'll get really sick if you take too early. If dr said 2 days then it's 2 days
The idea to to clear out your receptors and then fill them with sub. If they aren't clear there is a fight for lack of a better term. That fight makes you sick.

Ok, Well you should always follow what your Dr tells you. I know you feel like crap and it su*ks :( But your Dr knows what shes doing with this stuff so You should defiitely follow the plan she has set up fpr you. You dont want to do it to soon because if you go into precipitated w/d's your going to feel even worse!

Just try and keep yourself as busy as you can so hopefully this next 24 hours will go by quickly for you

Hi & welcome,

Suboxone is a complete program, not just a pill. You need to get a plan from your doctor. It is a violation of our guidelines to give out dosing information. Please phone your doctor and make an appointment. Make a list of questions you may have. I strongly urge you to commit to some sort of aftercare plan. Relapse is not a requirement but unfortunately it is a reality. Surround yourself in recovery this time around and set yourself up for success.

Let us know how you make out at the doctor. Keep posting.

U need to wait until u are in WD. Look up the cows scale online and the higher the number the better when u start. If u take them to early u will throw urself into WD immediately. Good luck

Hi there! Did you get the subs from a Dr or off the streets? If you got it from a Dr Im suprised that he/she wouldnt have given you the information you needed along with a taper plan.

I believe you should be off opiates for at least 48 hours before starting suboxone to make sure you dont go into precipitated w/d's. Others will be along soon to correct me if I am wrong on this though
