achy and restless legs

I am on day 7 .It feels good to have made it even this far.My question is.....How long before the achy legs and restless legs go away.It *****.......other then that the other aches have subsisded,along with the anxiety.Feels good otherwise to be clean.I am a very lucky woman to have such a supportive family and boyfriend.Reading other peoples posts have helped me out tremendously.Thank you all,and God bless you

Hi Paige, It took a couple weeks for my RLS to go away but I think that it is different for different people. Many people swear by the OTC med called Hylands for RLS. I took lots of warm baths and tried to make myself walk alot during the day. Your really lucky to have your anxiety subside this soon. That was the worst thing for me.
It's great to have family support for your recovery. Try to stay connected with other recovering addicts as well. It will help tremendously. Just wanted to chime in about RLS. That is what stayed with me the longest too. Corey is right, Hylands Restful legs @ walmart, CVS, Walgreens, anywhere. Also a 3 in 1 supplement called Mag-Cal-Zinc in conjunction with Hylands really does help with hot soaks and as much walking or exercise as you can. I had problems with legs and arms and it lingered from 14-21 days.. but got better each day.. It will get normal. Your body is recalibrating. Good luck and God Bless.  Andrew

HI I agree with the other posters...the highlands restful legs is a lifesaver and I also took the 3 in one vitamin calcium/magnesium/zinc you can pic both up at walmart the 3 in one is 6 bucks the highlands you will also find near the vitamins cost around 4 bucks with the vitamins
I took 4 in the morning and 4 with dinner did some research on the net about methadone detoxing and thats how many they said to take...it also nocked down the withdrawals a bit
the highlands I took 2 every hr till my legs settled down good luck and God bless...Gnarly

Thanks for the info..I do take the highlands for restlesless legs,it works somewhat I think,but maybe I am expecting too much too soon.I done take the 3 in 1 vitamin.I went out and bought it last night and took that also.Hopefully with the combination of them both it will help me better.Sorry it is taken me so long to reply back.I was working yestereday. 6 am to 2 pm then back in from 445 pm to 830 pm. by the end of the day I was drained. I am in the medical field.in between I ran to wall mart to go get the vitamins. To answer your quesstion about NA.The answer is yes.My childreen have went to them with me too.My boyfriend as well,as he doesnt quite understand addition.I would of never thought at at 44 I would of become addicted to hydrocodone in my wildest dreams.I also have seen a therapist with my childreen and have learned that my addition not just stems from the high of the pills,,but also on an emotional level as well to self medicate my feeling so I didnt have to deal with the pain.Ive also learned that my childreen are at a high risk of addition or alcholism (alcoholism).My addition,and my recovery are like a blessing in disquise.Me and my childreen (age 27,22,and21) are learning so much.They and my boyfriend,and these posts have been my anchor.Thanks for your advise,your time ,and your ears for listning to me.God bless you,and good luck .Take care.                                                     Paige

Thank you for your suggestions Andrew.I didnt get back to answering everyone,I had a very busy day yesterday.I did sleep good yesterday after working a 12 in a half hour day,went and got the 3 in one vitamin and took it along with the highlands.It is 4 something in the am.I slept from 10pm to 4 am that has been the longest I have slept straight through in 8 nights.So, I cant complain........Well, off to work again for another 12 hour shift.If I stay busy it keeps my mind occupied.You said it took you 2-3 weeks of this restless legs and arms...How long have you been clean?Happy Halloween,have a great day,God Bless                                                                                                                                                                             Paige

Thanks for your advise.I tried the vitamins along with the highland.Seemed to work a bit better taking both.I slept ffrom 10pm to 4am. The most sleep I have gotten in eight days.All at once I mean.How long did it take for your RLS to subside?just curious.I have heard different times.Each one of our symptoms are different,but also the same.Hope you are doing well.Have a great day and God bless you.                                                                                 Paige

IM 17 ive been taking 80mg oxys for about a year, I get Restless legs all day and night, i can barely make it to school everyday i have been taking a medication to get ride of the hot and cold sweats but i need my legs to stop

This is the right place to come to for advise.I have gotten so much advise.I take hylands for RLS you can get it at wallmart.I also take a 3in1 vitamin Mag/Cal/Zinc along with hot baths alot.I also have been going to NA with my childreen,and boyfriend.Its a great support system.I stay busy,work alot,and have just started exercising,its a great stress relieverThere are also times when i take some ibuprophen or motrin for my aches....not too many tho.Good Luck.Also,let your friends and family know about your addiction.The more support you have,the better.......Take Care and God Bless You         Paige
