acquiring methadone and valium

I can't possibly go to my doctor of 22 years and tell him I need Valium as an ingredient for the Thomas Recipe so I can get off OXY (approx 4 times a year I have a reoccuring injuring that I get 30 percs for - I've never gotten hooked on these - and don't want him to think I will cause they really help when I need them - in fact, once the pain is gone, I'm able to leave them in my medicine cabinet for ages).

Also - where else can one get methadone? only dr prescribed? - I think I'm past the worst  but my bf is up next (and ...well ... some, not all, but some men are real big babies when they're sick ;-). Not anyone here tho I'm sure.

Thanks as always - sorry for the numerous questions. (Typing helps pass the time away :-)

That is what I thought.....similar drugs...I would think that if you plan to quit one of these the other is not an option to continue...You do not need to worry about leaving yourself an open supply out there right now...you need to focus on getting clean.....narcotics are not an option for use unless absolutely necessary for the rest of our lives....ask the doc for what you need to get yourself clean...keep posting

Okay...so you have a problem with oxycontin...but are positive you do not have a problem with oxycodone (percocet)?   Just trying to get this clear as it is a bit confusing

please steer clear of methadone...it is the worst drug on the market today...there are now 3800 methadone related deaths per year..up from 400 methadone related deaths for the year 2006...and NO, theses are not all overdoses...a lot of them are first time users, they take 1, 5 or 10 mg methadone tablet and they die!!  this is no joke...i will provide you with the information if you would like to see it...just shoot me a PM...
do not take this path...and if your an addict your chances of getting addicted to methadone are very high...which will leave you with the worst addiction there is on earth.
it is not a drug to mess around with at all. i know i wouldnt want someones death on my shoulders if i said to try methadone to get off any drug, and they died from it the first time! this is why i have to tell you about this...warn you about the dangers.
especially if not under a doctors care or if buying them illegally off the street, you NEVER know what your going to get....
trust me...been there, done that...not a good situation at all...
good luck to you!

To stop taking oxy's and take percs, is like an alcoholic that stops drinking scotch and starts drinking beer. Come clean with your doctor. He will help you. When you get that reoccurring injury, the doctor will give you something else that will work as well as the percs.
Forget the methadone. It's not an option.

oxygirl487 - The last time i was prescribed the percs was over 5 months ago - I had 3 leftover and so took them while tapering over the last 4 days. I think I was so busy doing 80's that the percs just weren't good enuf for us. I'm a pill snob I s'pose .. lol. Anyway - since my last prescription out habit increased dramatically - I'm past needing methadone and valium but have a bf who's quitting too. We just decided I'd go first (he's taken care of me and I'll do the same for him).

im assuming i mst be missing part of your story (just got on and havent read to many posts yet) but im just curious ...if u dont have a problem with percs and can leave them in the med cabinet for ages...why do u need methadone?...a dr.s job is to help u...not be judgemental and it sounds like thats wht u r worried about and i dont blame u i was also but once u come clean to him/her im am sure they will understand mine did......

Yhanks - if methadone's hard to quit, my bf should def steer clear of it. What is Valium prescribed for? I think I was prescribed it about 15 years ago (was going thru a rough time - my nerves were raw and I wasn't sleeping) - ironically, I filled the scrip but tossed the bottle away because I was never 'the type' to take pills. I took one and it made me too groggy. Go figure...lol

Come clean with your doctor.  It wont be the first time he has had a patient with this problem. Let him help you. I would not touch methadone because it can be very tough to quit.
