addicted to soma and fiorcet

I posted a few or maybe couple days ago I just cant stop I try to taper off and the withdrawl is so bad I get so sick I am needing to taper off and just quit its ruinning my life. It is almost impossible to get up in the morning I have the shakes and dry heaves I hate to eat tho I try I have been on them on and off for over 3 yrs I am guessing but it wasnt constant till the last year. I am so scarde what this is doing to my body I feel like **** all the time I have lost so much weight. I dont know how to do detox and have no one to support me my husband has bi polar so I have to be so careful what hes told he doesnt handle thigs well and loves to argue basically he can barely handle himself any stress sets off mania episodes with him we have a child and I am afraid he will take her and run. We are new in our area and very alone. I need to get a job but how do I get out there like this its 9 am and I am sick as a dog. I find I cant even write anymore well I try but it looks awful is that normal (with pen and paper I mean?) Any advice? I dont want to die from this or be this sick I want to clean and active again. I am soooooooooooo depressed too.

I have used these medications since they first came out.  At first I had a problem with the addiction.  But have since learned never to take Fiorinal or Fiorcet for more than 3 days in a row (my maximum is 6 per day).  I use it for migraines.  I switch to Excedrin migraine on the fourth day.  I don't know if taking that might lessen your withdrawl symptoms.  But it helps me when I am in pain and am concerned about the addiction factor.
If my headaches are really bad I put the 6 pills out at the beginning of the day on a piece of paper near a pen and write down what time I take them.  That way there's little room for error, and you get the maximum relief with the least risk.
Best of luck.

I couldnt get on the computer husband home for 2 days and hes a chore sigh.....I havent quit yet so help me out here but have tapered alot my mornings are worse. I am reading the advice I got and wow what a help. Here I am thinking I am never gonna make it or will die from the w/ds and see there are things to try. I have tapered down I find when my husband is off work I use more he never notices if I am sick or anything. I used to weigh 180 lb now I am in a size 4 clothes duh. Hes got so many issues and he cant help me really I started all this with headaches and realized I could handle the marriage on the pills so here we are....I havent had a pill in 6 hours only have the shakes so far. I hate morings because I dont sleep well. Thanks for all the advice I have to admit I am sooooooooooo scared to just quit scared of being sick like that and alone but will use this forum and keep telling myself that the option of being clean is much better than this.

I was taking Fiorianl which is a like Fioricet except one has codine & one has caffine BOTH have the butabital that is the part thats the real grabber.
I had a cocktail of meds which included (Fiorinal/Vicocin/Soma) & Xani bar for sleep.
The Fiorinal (The one with the butabital like Fioricet) I'm finding was easier to et off then the Vicodins.
You will be sick on the bathroom floor for a day or 2.  So I'd tell everyone you have the flu and for the headacks get asprin/milk (to coat your stomic from all the asprin & a cold rag).
For me it seemed to be INTENSE & fast (over quick).  Where as the Vicodin grows more irritating over 3/4 days.  Let me know - I kicked that one am now on the Vicodin c/t.  You'll be SO HAPPY you did it!!!!

Petiteme:  Know first off a few things.  You're likely to experience rebound headaches as a result of withdrawing from the Fiorcet.  Here's the really crappy part (but I'm with you):  The s/s you are describing are withdrawl and they will get worse before they get better.  It sucks, it sucks SO badly.  I'm a friggin' mess, but I CAN tell you that at Day 12 (and from Day 7 or 8) I have been able to hold down food again, and have stopped puking as of Day 4 or 5.  You will need support.  That's why we're all here.  Since you can't get it at home, you're gonna have to try it here until you can move again, and then maybe get out and try something in addition.  I spend every minute just trying to get through it.  If I can do it, you can too.  You're on stuff WAY lighter than me and for WAY less time.  You'll most likely be through the worst of it by Day 4 or 5 and then get totally better with Day 7-14.  Hang in there.

I have been known to take them continuously day 4o mg pills without knowing how many if its a bad day thats the fiorcet with butibal I have cut down now I am taking 8-10 a day but its soooooooooooooo hard the withdrawl andn need for them. I started on the soma for back pain and they made me so sleepy and I get headaches so I started on the  fiorcet with butibal and caffeine for days and soma at night crazy huh? Now I only take 350 mg 2 pills at a time of soma once a day to sleeep a few hours usually at night. I read you shouldnt cold turkey the fiorcet because of the butibal so I am trying to taper off and having it soooo hard I have no support systom I live with a bi polar husband who is in his own world he cant or wont handle any responsibility I have to do this on my own I am hoping with the support of this forum any suggestions? I want to quit soooooooooooo bad Please advise or listen or help
