addicted to vicodin

I've been addicted to vicodin for nearly a year and want to be off of it, no matter the pain I go through. It has been 24 hours without any in my system and I am suffering a deep depression, shaking, and a terrible headache. My life seems fuzzy and unclear and I am scared. Can anyone tell me how long this will last or give me some ideas on how to make it easier.

I am addicted to Vic ES and was taking anywhere from 5 - 10 a day. The w/ds are really tough, especially when I have to be a mom.

Also look in my journals for the posts "Thomas recipe" and for 'amino acids'. There are things in there to help with the w/ds (withdrawals) Vicodin was my DOC(drug of choice) and I did it too. The old saying 'if I can do it so can you', is true here. Eat lots of bananas and I like Epsom salts in the hot bath. It helps the muscles. The next 2 or 3 days will be rough, but you can do it. Look at that recipe. Hang tight, it does get better.
What sort of a dose and strength were you taking?

Most of the physical withrawals will last about 5 days. Day 3 was the hardest but got much better after that. By day 5 I was feeling much better. Take hot baths for the chills. Try and muster up some energy to go on walks. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water and try to eat healthy. It is very tough going through this but you can do it. It is such a short amount of time. Just 5 days. Good luck and if you have any questions just let us know!
