Hey Denny , just want to say to that i feel your pain..first of all irs not the methadone that has you feeling depressed ,its because you are depressed.. i say your feeling overwhelmed with your medical problems especially the HepC . Actually i mean worried rather than overwhelmed..Because i know what its like to be worried over such a illness. Thinking your life is ****** that you will never get better that you will never be able to have a partner again because who would want you once you tell them you have HepC or the fact you ciuld pass it in to someone ..i know all this because i myself was on methadone with Hepatitis C and clinically Depressed. my life was in the toilet for a long time i was diagnosed with Hepc back in 2008 and just last year things started to change for me for the simple reason that a new treatment for HepC was made Available for people with it..instead of that toxic treatment that was given to us since 1976 that inly had a 40% chance if working on someone who had chronic Hepc , this new treatment is a miracle drug..instead of sticking needles in your stomach and loosing your hair and all sorts of other horrible **** this treatment is a course of tablets over 3 months a couple of pills in the morning and at night. so when i found out about this treatment it was a huge huge weight off my shoulders and i started to feel like , My life isnt over i can actually be cured from this and start again i can if i want meet someone without the feer of telling them my medical history..instead of sitting in my place not wanting to go out not wanting to meet people , depressed because you cant stop thinking about how bad everything is , Afraid because you think the Hepc will end up killing you or if it dosent you will have it for ever..But its not the case theres the new treatment and once you talk to your doctor about it you will see your life can get better because your will get better and then your mind will follow..i promise you speak to your doctor about the new treatment and your worst problem which is the Hepc can be cured now easily..the methadone you can drop a couple of mils a week which will be no problem to you once tou start feeling better from the Hepc ..Hepc is a horrible thing to have as it makes you feel tired all the time you never have any energy your always tired and as i have said to top that off it destroys your mind
Wow, First of all Everything is going to be ok honey. I have been As depressed as you are right now. Its not your fault. Its the medicines and your health. Im wondering, Are you wanted to get OFF the methadone or are you wondering if you keep using it if you'll ever feel better? If you need to keep using it for legitimate medical reasons, I would talk to your Dr about a lower dose everyday combined with Anti Depressant regimine and also Seeing a Therapist. I know that Idea doesnt sound too apealing but I think it would be really Important to have someone to talk to about whats in your head. And your Dr can combine multiple Antid D's to get maximum effect for you. Now, If you want to get OFF of the Methadone also see your DR about taporing you down slowly. It is the least painful way to get off Opiods. You know what helps me when Im really depressed?? Forcing myself to go out for a walk in town or something that I really dont want to do and Be around people. Walk past places you used to go, and remember when you felt good. If you truely want to feel better maybe a small part of you inside will start to come out again. I Dont know. All I know is that youre going to be Ok and That youre not alone. Good Luck to you. and Feel free to talk to me on here any time. Add me as a Friend if youre interested : -) Were Glad youre here!!
