well it is codiene in the cough syrup?
if so, than it will be all the same as for vicodin, oxy, hydro withdrawl. it is not so severe if you slowly wean yourself off.

What is in the cough syrup? Is it synthetic narcotic? Taper just like with a drug. Very slowly decease the amount you are using. You can anticipate a WD which might look like sleeping and sleeping and sleeping at first but other flu like symptoms and trouble sleeping might follow. But in the end you will feel much much much much better. It is worth doing! Go for it!

He is from India and they drink codeine cough medicine over there a lot that you can get in any store. It's not that addictive as evidenced by the fact that if he doesn't take it he just sleeps. The worst thing about it is the other ingredients in in which could be a major problem depending on what they are.
