addiction to norcos while pregnant

I went to a pain management doctor two weeks ago and he prescribed me 180   (10.320) norcos for backpain due to old injuries.And of course it didn't take me very long to abuse them.I take about ten-fifteen a day,it's horrible!!!After all that i just found out that iam pregnant.I feel horrible and very scared for my baby.Iam tapering myself of them damn things.I have only been taking them for two weeks,but damn so many a day of them things.Can somebody please give me some good advice on what to do?I feel so ashamed and dirty about this whole thing.Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!i greatly appreciate your help!

Welcome, first thing is you need to tell your dr right away that you are pregnant. have you been to an ob yet? i am very hesitant in giving any advice to a pregnant woman as i am not a dr. We have had several pregnant girls on here..There is a wonderful woman named 1234betterlife, she has been or still is an ob nurse,we usually send all our preganat girls to her. i will pm her. Congratulations on your pregnancy though! you must stop taking that many right away. Please start tapering. Do you have someone that you trust to hold your pills for you that could dole them out? You haven't been on them long so it shouldn't be a problem. That is an awful lot anyway let alone being pregnant. you are early on and should be able to be off them in just a couple of weeks..hang in there..

Congrats on your pregnancy.  I too was prescribed narcotics during almost my entire pregnancy and this is a subject I know a lot about.  There is a neo natal nurse on sometimes but I have lots of info on this subject.

Thanks to everybody that answeredI am starting to taper myself of them damn pills today.I have am gynecologist appointment this tuesday.Iam just so scared that i will loose this baby cause of how many of them i was taking a day.I had a miscarriage two months ago and don,t wanna go through something like that again.It really broke my heart because me and my husband had tried for so very long to get pregnant.I feel so blessed to be pregnant already again.Thanks again for all your support!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh honey I am sooo sorry. You are doing the right thing.Going to the dr is the best thing to do.And listen..I know your feeling bad, but you can take care of yourself and your baby with the help of your dr. i will pray for you both ,that everything goes well..did 1234betterlife contact you this morning? I am not sure about the pregnancy and the pain meds, but one thing I can tell you from experience, you should not be going through  a bad withdraw since you've only been on the meds for 2 weeks. May be you can try to quit cold turkey. I've been on vicodin for about 10 months started with 7.5 and then went up to 40mg/day. Not a large dose but much longer time than you. I thought the withdraws were going to be bad. I felt a lot of aces and pains for the first 2 days. Today is my 4th day and I feel almost fine.I think you will too.It may take couple of days to recover. Doctor gave me neurontin to manage anxiety. You should definitely talk to your doc.May be you can get a baby safe anti-anxiety medicine for the first couple of days to help manage your stress. From what I know stress is never good when you are pregnant.
