hi,and thanks again for your kindness, i am currently taking them for pain that will hopefully heal on its own, well at least i hope it does, and i have never ever got high from the percocet, actually i can't figure out how they make you high, the only thing they do for me is relieve pain where i can function, and i have always took the recommened dosage because them things make me so nauseated, the only thing i have noticed from not taking them well pain is pretty bad but i have got a terrible headache! i might just go back and take them and i will be careful i have learned alot on here! thank you so much and have a good night!

Is it for chronic pain that you will be having for the rest of your life or is it because of pain that will be going away soon?  What happened? 5 mg percocet 2 times a day will not even give you a high.  As long as you just take it or even less than what is prescribed, and only take it when you need it for just a couple of days JUST FOR THE PAIN.  Let me know what it's for... what kind of pain.  I started (and this is just me, everyone is different) gettin' addicted when I started taking more than what was prescribed because it made me high.  It says take 1 every 4 to 6 hours as needed for pain.  I took 2 a couple of times cause the pain from the pinched nerve and arthritis was excrutiating at the time, not thinking that it would get me high and it sure enough did.  Ugh!!!  Wish I'd never done that.  Let me know k?  Take care, Lil.  :)  PS... My concern is that if you are in pain, you shouldn't feel guilt of taking them especially if you don't have a problem with them.

hi, well how do you know when it's to much? i mean how long do you have to take it untill your badly addicted? i know i haven't taken mine long at all and it's the first time i have ever taken anything over 2-3 wks, but i have to admit when my doctor told me they can be addictive and then i have read these posts it scares the **** out of me!! so i haven't touched it since thursday, i am laying here in alot of pain though, monday i am calling my doctor for something less addictive for pain, but it seems everything out there is, so what is a person supposed to do? well guys i have learned alot about pain meds that i didn't even know existed so good luck to all of you!!
                                                                      hugs,
                                                                      jeanette

Hey, I hope you are doing ok.  I don't recommend anyone to go through excruciating pain sweetie.  As long as you take it as prescribed or less, and only take it as needed for your pain and no longer, you should be fine.  Don't not take it, if you are in alot of pain.  You will be fine as long as you do that.  I hope this helps and I will be praying for you.  Take care and god bless u, Lil.  :)

Every person is different with side effects.  With just the little bit that you are taking and you've only been taking it since March?  You shouldn't have that much of withdrawals if you stop taking it.  But with my experience taking percocet, they are very addicting.  Just take them as prescribed or take less than prescribed.  And don't take it for a long period of time.  Just take them as needed for pain.  I'm not a doctor and like I said everyone's body is different.  I'm just telling you from my experience.  Talk to the doctor about side effects and the addictiveness.  Hope that helps some.  You are in my prayers.  Hope everything goes well.  Take care and god bless, Lil. :)

Percs are addictive no matter how much or how many you are taking as far as I am concerned... especially if you have an addictive personnality(like yours truly)... be careful, maybe get a second opinion on something different to take or maybe some sort of therapy would help you, without knowing what you are taking it for is difficult also...  My advice, just be careful, the addiction may get you when you are not paying attention, it happens to the best of us...  good luck!!!!
