He is probably allergic to alcohol.  He needs to go to rehab before he really seriously injures himself.  As a teen, most of the people I hung out wtih who would drink enough to lose all bodily functions, and still continue to drink to that extent, truly had severe alcohol addiction.    I am so sorry that you and your hubby are experiencing seeing your loved one suffer.   I pray he will get the help he needs and that you will as well.   Alanon is a great program for those who have alcohol addicted loved ones.

Welcome to the forum......

I was a full blown drug addict at 17 years old........
I got into fist fights with my father over it.......

He has to want to stop but if you think his life is endanger you do have some options with the courts........
Some will say that is not right or turning your own family in but my question is it more right to watch him kill himself slowly.....

I would set him up with an addiction counselor........for someone to talk to maybe a core issue is causing inner pain and he drinks to escape.........
