I have been taking ambien for 2 months and I have to say the sleep is the best ever. I have read where the things people are saying is true. The ambien does not work as well if you have opiates in your sytem or have a full stomach. If I had pills(opiates) and tried to get a full night sleep there was no way with ambien.
If you don't have anything in your system and you have trouble sleeping I would reccommend the Ambien. I am going to rely on my Dr. to help get me off of it.
I have a lot of experiencenwofh ambien and i would say stay away. For me though I ended up using it quite often WITH my addiction to pain kilers. And for me it just set me back using it to sleep after and during detox. And what it started to do to me and my gf who was also taking them was it made us really really iritable and mean then next day. It really started messing with our brains. Probably more than any other drug i have taken. We would take it then stay up on purpose for "recreation" it has a very euphoric pull to it and right now is one f the most abused drug on the market. It's very addictive and attractive. But trust me be VERY carefully with it or you will find yourself having to detox off if that as well. I have said on here before the next day it felt like could actually FEEL my brain being damaged. It was really changing me as a person. Way worse than even the pain killers.
thanks you bet i will be very carefull with this one ifeel today i just might make it thank all
I have to agree with Ga Guy, don't take it and your sleep will gradually return to normal. Your sleep is messed up because of the drugs, taking different drugs to sleep and then quitting that drug seems like just prolonging the time until you are able to sleep without drugs.
On a personal note I'm way to weird already to risk taking something that might make me do weird things and not remember them.
Ambien acts just like a benzo and should be treated as such. It's very easy early on to look for pharmaceutical solutions to physical and mental problems. It's the very definition of an addict. Bite the bullet and wait for natural sleep to come. Ambien is a scary drug that has taken many lives. It's just not worth the risk.
I'm with Tony on this one. If you are able to take it and go right to sleep then i don't see why not. Me personally, when i was prescribed it, i would take it, still not be able to sleep and then i would be all wierd and not even remember any of it. Anyways, good luck to you and congrats on 11 days!!!-----------Jacky
I'm with tonyw11. After a while ambien had an opposite effect, would get me up out of bed eating and doing weirds things for hours that I barely remembered the next day. And once you get used to it, you get a rebound insomnia when you go off it. If you use it for a short time while you are in withdrawal and it helps you my guess is that probably would be fine. I'm no doctor so this is based only on my personal experience so take with a grain of salt. But I have read about many people having the same reaction to ambien as me and tonyw11.
I hate ambien because if you take it and don't go right to sleep you end up doin weird stuff. And the next day you hardly remember anything. But if that helps you I would only take them for 3 or 4 days then go a few days off until normal sleep returns
