Anything you use for sleep can be psychologically addicting...and I do know someone who abuses ambien and will stay up and do stuff she does not remember..i have taken it for years off and on without a problem...it is non-narcotic nor is it a benzo..i have never developed a tolerence to it and i just fall asleep 20 minutes after i take it...but it can be abused and there are people who have an addiction to nyquil and benadryl too...be careful with any drug you use..even OTC drugs...
You need sleep so nothing is wrong with the ambien. Just remember they too can be addictive. 16 days clean is great so don't think you have to start over.
Dove
You will not have w/d from ambien if you have only used it a few times. It is extremely addictive so be very careful with it. I used it for several months during w/d from hydros and then I had major problems from using the Ambien as prescribed NEVER abused it. It has taken me months to get over it. My sleep is just now returning to normal the ambien does more harm than good in the long run. I know it is awful to go without sleep and that the over the counter meds don't help when w/d from hydros or norcos but be very careful with the ambien. Should never be used more than 7-10days per Ambien website...
Melatonin is a natural sleep pill. Have you ever tried taking melatonin? It works really well for me. And I think that it is non-addictive.
Ambien was not your drug of choice so you don't have to start all over again but be careful because Ambien is addictive as well.
Lots of Love,

no you don't have to start over..I think at some point many of us have had to take something to sleep. Thats one of the harder parts of getting off these drugs..just try not to depend on it to sleep..maybe try every other night..but nobody can take your 16 days away from you!!!!! Congrats..don't be so hard on yourself my friend. sleep is important.
NO!!! you are still 16 days.....just be very carefull with the ambiem....
congrats on 16 days!!!
