There is something soothing about running water...take a shower and take slow deep breaths. It helps with the panicky feeling!
Thank you for the advise. It was so hard therer for a fw hours. I got out and went to an AA meeting and felt better after I got out of it. I think I could handle this a bit easier if my brian wasnt making me so upset can anyone tell me how long you think it will be this bad with the ancxiety and fear?
Thanks so much for the help
any minute, any hour, any day now you will turn the corner. do NOT give up.
it is like walking a dark road and you don't know when you will get to the end, but it could be just steps away.
day 8 is HUGE.
did you have anxiety before using???
if after 21 days you are still filled with anxiety seek the help of a doctor.
it gets better, i promise.
the opiates mask ALL our emotions, fears, etc. now that your brain is healing it has to get back to producing all the hormones, chemicals that it stopped producing naturally because of the opiates. give it time. it didn't happen in 8 days and it won't get back to normal in 8 days, but it will eventually.
exercising produces the feel good chemicals.
laughing produces the feel good chemicals.
so go workout or at least a brisk walk. then watch some funny movies. help nudge it along
congrats on the 8 days. you are doing great
What i wanted to tell you is that what your feeling is TOTALLY NORMAL!! Dont be scared...its your head trying to scare u back into putting drugs in it, i promise! Now that the physical part is getting less, the mental part is coming on of which this is where aftercare comes in. Talking to others who know exactly where u r and where your coming from, helps tremendously! Time to start figuring out how you got yourself in this position in the first place! Aftercare!!!!
Please don't give up. No matter how bad it feels right now, know that you are one step closer to be independent from these chemicals. I admire you for 8 days!!! That's a huge accomplishment.
