anyone know about Effexor xr

After 56 days clean c/t from an 11 year addiction to Ultram my dr. put me on Effexor xr. Reading alot of scary stuff about it though today. Any input?

I have just been diagnosed with liver disease been on effexor for 3 years in mad pain daily countless ermergency room visits ct scans egds but its the effexor making us sick

From my own experience and the experience of others I know who've taken it. Don't take it. It made me gain tons of weight! And when I wanted to get off of it I had the worst withdrawals from it. I have a friend who also got major liver damage from it.

I have been taking it for 2 days and I am soooo tired and soooo hungry. was that how you felt?

I used it for a week or so (she gave me the blister pack that ramped the dosages up). I had some weird side effects and came off of it. I felt like **** for a few days after. But, you know, everyone is different,and this drug has helped many people. I do think it's a good idea to do what you're doing and see what effects it may have so that you can be looking for them.
