anyone know about neurotin

my doc put me on neurotin today..i havnt took any yet..does anyone know about this drug??  is it habit forming??

yeah ive got degenerative disk disease and degrnerative vertabra disease...this is the last option before surgery...artificial disk replacement

Neurontin, as a rule, is not habit forming, i.e., it's not a narcotic.  I have MS and, as HelpinUtah alluded to, Neurontin is prescribed, in general, for nerve pain.  My neurologist has had me on Neurontin for MS related pain in my legs, and I can tell you it's not habit forming.  I presume you have some type of similar symptoms for your doc to prescribe it (?).  I hope this helps ..

yea my stepdad had neurotin for nerve pain and it is used for shingle pain i believe...if u ever have shingles...What did ur doctor prescribe it for? I dont believe its really habit forming....I have taken a couple before and they didnt produce any "high" or good feeling...the feeling that causes addiction.

I don't know if it's habit forming, but my doctor thought about putting me on neurotin for nerve pain.  She said it works really well for that.
