are me and my friend withdrawing? She thinks it’s the flu; I’m a little worried though.

Is ecstasy physically addictive? Every time I ask a friend I get a different answer. I haven’t done it in about five days and I’ve been very moody all the time. I keep crying for no reason and when I tried to change a light today I accidentally crushed the bulb in my hand; it’s like I don’t have a grip on myself. Am I possibly going through some withdrawal?
Please respond quickly I feel like I’m falling apart.
My best friend and I have been doing this drug together for months in a row now and I’m worried about her.
I puked, but only once a couple of days ago and I currently have a fever; I have no idea if both me and my closest friend have the flu or if this is drug related. I plan on discontinuing use of ecstasy, but should I be worried about my friend? I hear that stopping a drug all at once can be dangerous. I would never forgive myself if something happened to her.
Morphine stole away my ex-boyfriend and I’ll be damned if I let ecstasy takeaway my bestfriend.

Ecstasy is not physically addictive in the way that drugs like cocaine, nicotine and heroin are. Many users are, however, addicted to the emotional state they reach on the drug. Some feel they cannot live without it and become regular weekly users.

Ecstasy is seductive - many users secretly know they would have difficulty going without it in the future, but wouldn't like to admit to it in terms of addiction. Calling a regular ecstasy user an addict usually provokes a negative reaction.

tolerance
Frequent ecstasy use increases tolerance very quickly. Increasingly higher doses are needed to reach an 'acceptable' high. The more you use it the less you feel the loved up empathic feelings and the more the speedy amphetamine buzz takes over.

Regular users rarely come close to the novelty and surprise of first discovering the ecstasy state. To avoid the build-up of tolerance long breaks should be left between use (at least two months).

long-term effects
The after-effects and long-term effects seem a little hushed up, often by the users themselves. The majority of regular users try to ignore the increases in tolerance, the harder come-downs, the mood swings, the short-term memory loss, the inability to concentrate and just see it as an acceptable price to pay.

There is evidence that even moderate regular use of ecstasy can lead to memory impairment.

Oh god thank-you for your response! Do you think I should go to a doctor about this? Or just leave it and make sure that both me and my friend don’t use this drug anymore?

Ecstasy is psychologically addicting and the most common withdrawal symptoms include:

depression
anxiety
panic attacks
sleeplessness
"de-personalization"
"de-realizaation"
paranoid delusions

I also now that XTC  has the ability to stop the brain from regulating the bodies core temp. if your temp hits 103 go to the hospital.

users report a number of side effects, including:

Heatstroke (also known as hyperthermia)
Nausea
Muscle tension
Blurred vision
Faintness
Chills
Sweating
Teeth clenching
Day-after depression
Ecstasy raises your body temperature and heart rate. Combine this with hot conditions, the physical activity of dancing in a party or club, and not drinking water, and the greatest immediate danger of MDMA is heatstroke. Heatstroke (or hyperthermia) is the primary cause of death from Ecstasy.

thank-you that was very helpful! thank you that was very helpful. I very sure I’m going through some withdrawal but feel it’s not something I can’t handle. As for my friend she’s done more than me and if I think she can’t stop I’ll tell her mom what’s going on. I won’t let her hurt herself. Thank you!

And yes it would be very wise to not use it again. It's way to easy to overdo. That goes for all the drugs out there.

Dont use the dru ganymore...that is for sure...if u have been using it regularly and now have gone without for 5 days it is not really unusual that u dont feel that "great"  if you have any physical symptoms other than depression and irritability i would ask your doc or seek medical attention....you may benefit from the thomas recipe or amino acid therapy noted in the health pages to the right...when u feed your brain with euphoric drugs, it will reduce production of these neurotransmitters as the body is a fine tuned mechanism..it senses you have enough and slows down on production...now u have taken them away...your body needs time for repair,,to catch up...read the health pages and get the amino acids as it may help

I will go see my doctor as soon as possible and keep and tell my friend to do the same. I can’t thank you enough for all of your help. I feel silly I’m studying to become a drug counselor and look at what I’ve been doing.

I've done ecstacy and found extreme side effects after using. I was extremely irritable and emotional. I felt very depressed, isolated and miserable for almost a week after using. These side effects are normal...but let me tell you...I never did it again!! You should come out of your funk soon. Essentially...ecstacy releases our stores of endorphines (the chemical in the brain that makes us feel happy and good). So...after using, your body's supply of endorphines is low. So .. you feel depressed and grumpy until your body makes more. Not exactly my idea of fun.
Hope this helps!
