welp sounds like you copped a "OUI" charge (operating under the influence)..i know somone going through this same charge rite now for driving while on valium (even though he had a legal script)....anyway you sentence will depend on you PAST record..if you have any related past charges etc. just get a good lawyer and if you dont have a bad past record youl prolly get some supervised probation (with drug testing) and some drug abuse classes
I have an attorney and he said with the Soma rx there shouldn't be legal problems. No past DUID in the past, but have had 4 other accidents this year, 2 of them Soma related. I've been to rehab twice last year. I'm 2 weeks clean and the arrest scared me straight.
Hardy,
Sure hope legal stuff works out!
I am wondering if you intend to quit bc you WANT to or just laying off bc legal charge? ANYTHING is OK!! I guess I was just wondering what type of stuff you're lookin' for on the site.
You are 100% welcome no matter what--dn't want to suggest otherwise!!
I'm using the forum for support right now. It's only been a matter of days off Soma and I'm going through alot of the hell that others are experiencing. Helps to know that I'm not alone. In answer to your question. I have quit many, too many times to count, suffered with withdrawls, as I'm doing now, but nothing scared me as much as being arrested. My family found out and I almost lost everything in my life. I was thinking crazy things, but I had nothing to lose, so I'm getting off this s___t while I'm still alive. This forum helps me know that I'm not alone.
They may suspend your license for a short period of time.
My husband found out and hasn't let me drive for the last two weeks; seems like forever. He takes me to and from work. I kind of already feel like a prisoner. I know in AZ there is a "no tolerance" policy about driving under the influence. I'm waiting for the blood tests to come back and show how bad I was. I know IT was bad. I'd probably taken 3-4 pills and I was sooo out of it; barely remember rearending the other car. This is my first offense.
Absolutely, Hardy. Wasn't judgeing or anything!1 Just wanted to get a sense of what you needed and looking for is all. :)
Jessica
DUI is a state offense and the answer to your question(s) will vary by state. The conduct that constitutes the act of DUI must be defined by statute as must the range of penalties. What state were you popped in?
I live in AZ too!! I know for a fact that if this is your first offense, they will most likely either suspend your license for a three month period or so and make you attend a driving class. You may have to pay a fine too, i'm not sure, i've never had a DUI. But, I was in driving class with a few people that did have one. Trust me, you only do jail time if you have had previous DUI's in the past. Most likely, you will have
1. suspended license
2. defensive driving class
3. fine
Thanks, I thought for sure I'd have to go to jail for a few days or maybe up to 30 days. Do you know how long the drivers license suspension is for? Oh, I live in AZ and know that we have really tough DUI laws. I've lost so much sleep over this and without the Soma and can't stop shaking. It's been 12 days so hopefully some of the wd's will start to go away. thanks for your help and support -- i need it
I am not sure about the specifics. I do know that they wont put you in jail on a first offense. Perhaps, they may even put you on probation for 6 months or so. I think they will probably suspend your license or make you attend a defensive driving class and give you a fine.
Here are some fact from some websites:
http://www.arizona-dui-defense.com/Arizona-DUI-FAQs.htm#What%20Are%20The%20Charges
RESTRICTED DRIVERS LICENSE
If a driver completes a breath or blood test which indicates an alcohol concentration of .08 or more and holds a non-commercial drivers license, then driving privileges will be suspended for ninety days. However, so long as the driver did not cause serious physical injury to another person, has not been convicted of a prior drinking and driving charge in the past sixty months, and has not had his/her privilege to drive suspended for a prior drinking and driving charge, he/she is entitled to a reduced punishment of a thirty day suspension and a sixty day restricted license.
Go to that website, and you will get more info. Too much info to copy and paste.
thanks, I sure will. Any and all info is appreciated. :-)
