Hey there! Glad u came to this site for support! I'm currently on day 8 w/o my suboxone! I was on it for a year and it was time to get off it! It absolutely saved my life! I have made tremendous changes on my life in jus a tears time! But if u don't want it, then suboxone won't help u. U sound very determined and ready to began ur journey! It's so tiring having to wake up sick everyday of ur life and chase drugs, I kno cuz I did it for 6 years!! Any wAys I have done a lot of research on suboxone and as u kno, took it for 11 months. The things with gettin off suboxone is that it has a long life, u dot start withdrawing from it til 36 hrs after ur last dose. So needless to say, suboxone withdrawal last 3-17 weeks! So I'm in for the long haul, u are supposed to be weaned down not quit cold turkey!  So if u have any questions don't hesitate to ask! Best wishes to u! :)

Hey Nick! Congrats on your decision. From what I've read about your situation on your previous post, a low dose Suboxone/Methadone taper might be called for here. I would make sure that your dose is 16mgs or less as that is the 'ceiling' dose (for many, the ceiling is lower.) Going over this dose might aggravate the side-effects associated w/Subs and is a red flag re: the Dr. Also, most people find a slow taper is more effective. Optimally, you'd want to start this taper anywhere between 6 & 12 mos. Please know ahead of time that Suboxone/Methadone are the hardest two opiates to kick. Good luck - Wishing you all the best!

Hi. I'm on the suboxone program bc I'm a heroin addict and make sure its a Dr tht is going to drug test a lot and hold u accountable if u mess up. Tht way u have to stick to the program if ur addict brain should start talking. Subs absolutely saved my life!!! I'm 8 months clean and would have never made it if it wasn't for subs. Good luck!!!

Hi zbone. Ots still early for a lot of responses. I am starting my 6th day clean so I am just learning. Can you tell us your story?  What you take?  How many?  You say again so I guess you have tried to quit before. You might get more help if everyone knows what is going on with you. Welcome back;

I know exactly what your saying. However, you have to cut off all your sources. Until we do that we will NEVER get sober. Sad but true. Good luck!
