benzos

i read on here that alot of people are w/d from benzos, what exactly are they? i take vistaril at night to help me sleep, is this classified as one too? thanks.

sedative tranquilizers I take serax sometimes its a sleeping pill thats a benzo  Its a family of drugs.  they are addictive  if taken daily for a long time.  ativan is one valium stuff that makes you tired and stop anxiety instantly ie attacks.

I have been on Benzos for over 4 years now. They are highly addictive and I am in the process of getting off them myself, along wiith muscle relaxers. Benzo's, are used for treating seizures immediately but more often for treatment of any Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, etc. So they are in a classification of Central Nervous System Depressants. Vistaril is an antihistamine, not a Benzo.
