best OTC med to use, for real cold/flu

i said 'real' cold/flu, because i am pretty sure it has nothing to do with not taking my meds anymore...but who knows.

i have taken the tylenol cold/flu, and that doesn't seem to help. I also tried just alka seltzer, with no luck as well. i was trying to steer clear of the items with asprin (acemetophin or however you spell it) and get something that had a bit more in it, that works.

my body aches, headache, some sniffles....no actual throwing up though.



any suggestions?

chicken noodle soup and 7-up...and tylenol or advil...
i swear by it...and its safe...

Ive found not much helps me with a cold or flu like sickness except TIME.  Sometimes if Im totally stuffed and cant breathe at all, i use soem Robitussin PE to decongest my nose but thats about it. And as Wait2long said, Chicken soup! It really does help some! Hope you feel better soon!

Same here hope. Getting over a bad cold myself right now. I first thought it was the w/d's but nope. I had a stinkin cold. Tried a couple different things. Theraflu worked the best for me and time. Took about a week for it to finally start drying up. Now I just have a cough and a stuffy nose. The runny nose has stopped the aches and pains have stopped. The theraflu relieved most of my symptoms though. If you can a nice comfy blanket and a good book works pretty good too.

ugghh i will try some when i get home from work....i hate feeling like this. i just wanna go home and go back to sleep! thats another thing, energy. been taking my l tyro still, just not working as well i guess. on top of it, the girl i work with came in coughing and all sick like....hope i don't get that too!!!

I dont remember exactly wich one,i remember getting the stuff that listed all my symptoms. Probably should'nt say this but at night it works real good with a little shot of whiskey in it. Can you say snooorrrriiiinnnngggg LOL It really helped me sleep. The part I like the best is you take it hot. Good luck and hopsing hopes hope feels better soon.

TheraFlu Severe Cold and flu is the best.  BUT you have to buy the liquid stuff that says "warming" on the bottle.  It made me feel better when i had the worst flu a few months back.
