I hope your coping sweetie xx I'n sorry you got upset when you wanted advice for the problem you knew you had.I know its hard i have a few really painful illnesses too and the WD plus breath taking pain which is 100 times worse with WD.

At least once we get the pill's cleared out we can plan what to do but thats not possible when your going through the wringer, i know xx. I'm glad your partner is looking after you, i had to get rid of mine he was no good for me or to me so im fighting by myself for myself.

I was thinking we could have cheered looked out and kept an eye on each others each other as there is only just over 24 hours then from a big taper i am jumping too.

I did the Codine CT and i was thinking your stomach love, take a half or a whole teaspoon of bicarb in warm water this will alkaline you and is a great help. Try to avoid sweets as this will rush your sugar levels up and down even faster, avoid Caffine this will make it worse.

I dumped Coffee and am drinking water and Red bush Tea and Twinnings Fruit Selection Tea bags in stead their lovely and dont need any sugar as their quite sweet too. But you can add a bit of Honey to both tea's if required but dont put milk in you dont need it and it will probably make you puke. Do you have a Hot water bottle? I find mine a comfort for the aches and Ibuperophen is recomended for the same thing.

Benelin Original has something in it that's used as a sleeper if you can't sleep try a table spoon of that .Take as many hot soak's or shower's as and when you feel like for the aches and to help sleep.Don't worry if its day or night, if you can sleep then do so. I will post anything else that i think may help you as i remember things or if something i try helps at all and as long as i can get to my pc.

Big hug love i really, really hope your not worked up over being upset. Your going to be very emotionally fragile right now and for quite a while after. You then got to get to work on yourself love.

Its a lot more than just detoxing the pill's and this is where you slipped this time after going there before. You need 'A Plan'' love, the pain management is just one part of many things you really need to do lovely girl.

I have planed quite a few things ahead and learn to do something you never done (no Bungee jumping!! even i passed on that 1 :-d ) but i am going to Scuba diving classes.I also have an Online course i paid and down loaded waiting for when i can do it, i did it pre-detox so after paying for it i'm doing it.Also Pottery classes and our local Art's centre puts on all sorts of film pays music different classes. And i got a sewing machine so i can turn old clothes and bedding, curtain

s in to other useful stuff. Joined the Library so i can borrow books, DVD's, CD's whatever i can't afford for free. Sowhat i'm doing is making sure that if i'm indoors i am still productive and i have to go out to do the other things too and i paid for everything through a good discount site of some things are free.

. But i find when your paying your more likely to keep it in rhythm especially when you can't afford to take the financial loss. <3 Love Tswana <3 xxx.

Sounds like you have a plan. There is really no wrong or right way to do this. Your goal is to be completely off everything and that takes time. Your focus has to be getting the through the physical WD of the codein and tramadol. All that other "immodium" stuff on here should be the less of your worries, if your having the major runs then take it as directed. I been through this process and it worked for me. Word of advice keep it simple, gather as much "positive" information and just do your best. You can do it

Let me suggest what I did when detoxed. I prepared.... Mentally, financially and physically. I got all my vitamins and home remedies set, made my room and bathroom a stress free environment and bought things I may need for a week. I chose a quit date and then tapered off then quit. Took a week for physical WD to subside. Emotional and mental stuff was taken care of through group therapy and still till this day. Knowing what to expect during my "hell" week helped. Just remember to keep it simple. Good luck

Hey Natasha.. You have received some GREAT advice from everyone above.. An addict can NEVER say NEVER... All we have is TODAY!! Also, none of us are "weak minded", We are addicts.. The truth is sometimes hard to hear but I assure you that everyone here only wants to see you succeed! You CAN do it and we are here to support you through it.

Natasha- I saw you said your partner is taking away all the pills in the morning which is great!  It's that antidepressant in the Tramadol that causes much of the unpleasant effects when stopping abruptly although 8 a day isn't that high...

You need to get some Epsom salts and pour about a cupful in a hot bath. It is the most unbelievably soothing experience. Also, plenty of clean shirts or nightgowns nearby...Protein shakes are important, too.

We'll be here so keep close by!

It is better to taper off trams. I know you want to do it all at once but how about giving them to your boyfriend to give them to you in divided doses to wean you off? Seizures are not good and can cause brain damage. If you don't have the trams in the house you won't be able to take what you want. Only someone who is strong enough to say no to you will be able to help you. Please think about this......I would hate to see you get into some kind of medical trouble because you wanted to go cold turkey off something you shouldn't go CT off of. I will pray for you.......God Bless.

BTW, I have been there.....gone cold turkey off hydrocodone. It is not fun or easy and I am not addicted but was dependent and didn't want to take them anymore. My pain is bad and I don't know if I can remain this way but I take one day at a time with the pain and am entering a pain management clinic for alternative therapies.

You still haven't answered the question..any pills left? And unfortunately what I've written is the truth. Understanding your addiction, and understanding that it is not something that can be beaten, only controlled by working a recovery program. You and I can agree to disagree. Finally, it is not weak minded. Once an addict accepts the truth about addiction a weight lifts and they can live a clean life. All the best to you.

you cannot beat the addiction; you cannot win; you do not have the inner strength or willpower to defeat what is a part of you. !! this is ridiculas and weakminded crap that people on this site do not need to here!

Any pills left? Any refills? You don't seem to be answering this very important question. And don't fool yourself..." i know once i start to feel better ill never ever go back ive been addicted to something before and one day enough was enough i withdrawed and never touched again the thoughtmakes me feel sick". Your addiction never leaves; it will sit and wait, for years if necessary, and then it will hit you and you're off on another run. Sarah has been around here for many years, and what she always says is, keep your guard up. You cannot beat the addiction; you cannot win; you do not have the inner strength or willpower to defeat what is a part of you. All you can hope for is to manage the addiction and lead a life in recovery.

what dose of tramadol have you been on?
have you tapered them?
cold turkey from tramadol is not recommended.
there is a seizure risk and also there is an anti-depressant
component in them which makes the anxiety worse.

Do you still have access to meds? I keep pushing this because no matter how prepared you are, if you can get your hands on meds the odds are that you'll relapse. You also need to start thinking about your support system; you have to tell your secret. If you don't you'll relapse behind it. And finally, at some point you need to get to aftercare - NA meetings.
One thing that I can suggest that you buy is Ensure. At some point during your detox you may not be able to eat, so drinking Ensure will keep your body fueled.

Why are you detoxing? Have you decided that you need to stop the meds, or have your scripts run out? And I apologize if you've already posted this, but how long were you using and why? Legit injuries/pain or was it more recreational?
Detoxing is just the first step. There are lots of things to do in order to stay clean, if that's what you want to do. All the stuff that Rosy suggested will help, but ultimately time is the only thing that you can count on.
