I didn't sleep at all for two nights and poorly for several more.   I didn't take anything to make me sleep.   However, I didn't have any obligations (work or small children) that needed my attention, in case I wanted to sleep during the day....if I got sleepy.   It was the strangest thing.   I didn't sleep but I didn't feel particularly tired....just more like in a fog.   My legs were tired...and felt heavy but even though I missed sleeping, I was wide awake.   I just passed the time reading this forum and at night there is an over night radio program about UFOs and weird stuff and I just laid awake and listened to that.

Congratulations on quitting.   It is the best thing you will ever do for yourself.

Keep posting here.  You'll really get tremendous support.  There are things to help you feel better, depending on what symptoms you get in withdrawal.  It varies from person to person, but most people say 3 to 5 days.  Try to eat what you can and just treat the symptoms as best you can.  You're giving yourself a fabulous gift!

Sounds like you are trying to take a healthy choice to this .that's great! I have heard the Thomas recipe works wonders I know that lots of water and small meals with exercise helps also lots of hot bath/showers  .the worst is 1 to 4 then every  day gets a little easier .try to keep your self  focused on good movies .. you sound like a very strong person  so that's part of the battle and just know you will not die from this you will through this .I am living proof that this is possible

Great choice in stopping now.  The Thomas recipe has helped a lot of people.  From my own experience, staying hydrated is really important.  Stock up on what you need.  Alteril is a great all natural sleep aid and really helped me.  I had tried melatonin but found Alteril better.
