please can someone help. my boyfriend has been off herion for around 6 months and has recently started using again. tonight he has used herion and swallowed 2 subatex tablets. is this dangerous? what shall i do? please respond quickly

Swallowing Subutex will not do much... it is meant to be taken under the tongue therefore swallowing it will not absorb much of the drug into the system..

I do suggest you get him some help though... addiction professional of some sort..

For the person who said there is no blocker in the Subutex that is wrong.. buprenorphine itself blocks opiates. It tightly binds to the receptors so that other opiates cannot attach.The naloxone in the Suboxone is in there to prevent abuse from using it IV not as a blocker. When used under the tongue very little of the naloxone is abosorbed at all..

i would think that he may be in  some type of withdrawals because the heroin and the subutex is competeing with each other to fill his receptors, so there for there is nothing IN his receptors which would cause withdrawals.. but i am not 100% sure of this...i would call a pharmacy and ask the pharmacist...that is what their job is to help with prescribed medications and subutex would fit the bill..

i think he will be fine the sub should block the smack out.  but i'm not sure.  cold and sleepy he';s either still detoxing or sometimes you get quite clammy and cold and pale when you od

You can always overdose even by the smallest amout of anything I know a girl that od'd from heroin not sure how many times and even died NINE times.....Mixing drugs is very serious never mind taking alone

i don't know how ill he is he's sleeping at the moment, and there is no way he'd go to hospital, he said he didn't do much of the herion because i caught him and threw it away, he says he's ill because he didn't have enough! and thats why he's cold and sleepy. i don't know much about it, is this true? what effects can the herion and subatex have together. could he have taken an overdose with what he's taken. sorry for all the questions but if anyone can help i'd be really thankful

I know people that have mixed oc's with subutex and the reason is cause there is no blocker in the subutex. Not saying it's a good thing, but may help ease you're mind....If I was you i'd call a poison controll 800 number and they will tell you...

Listen, if you think he is that bad, then get him to the ER. He needs help and you CANNOT help him. Get him to a hospital.
