The CELEXA is a SSRI antidepressant. (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor.)
My only concern would be to watch out for anything else you may take that increases serotonin levels. It is serotonin levels which are usually most suspect when a person has depression, SSRI's block the reuptake of serotonin, thereby providing higher levels of serotonin at the brain receptor site. If you took something else that increased serotonin, it could be dangerous, and cause what is called Serotonin Syndrome, which can be fatal.
For that reason, amino acid remedies for opiate withdrawal symptom relief
such as 5HTP and SAM-E, and anything else that may have a simular effect must be avoided.
It can also cause sexual dysfunction. But it can also prevent premature ejaculation problems. Hey I'm not thinking that! LoL!
Klonopin is a benzo as other have said. Otherwize known as Clonazepam.
Are you farting alot yet? maybe you are, but you forgot LoL! thats some of it's common side effects.
You may want to read up on it,
I'd be more concerned with the opiate/benzo combination more than I'd be concerned about the antidepressant. But I have mixed all three and while everyone is different, it hasn't had any adverse effects on myself... I would try taking 10mg Celexa for the first week just to make sure you're body is OK with it... You should be fine... no worries... - RJ
I took celexa and methadone together without incident ....im really surprised the methadone doctor prescribed the clonapine....most clinics are dead set agents the use of benzos and methadone together ....at the time of induction I was on xanex and the clinic use to pitch a fit every time a u/a came back positive for it....I would always have to get a letter from the prescribing doctor stateing that it would be ok to take both at the same time...they even threaten to pull my take homes because of it once...the celexa not a problem my concirn lyes with the clonipine ......people take benzos with methadone but it can turn into a deadly combo without notice....I guess your allright if your body is tolerating it but you might just want to ask your doctor about it...............Gnarly
None of us can tell you if it is okay as we are not doctors but it sounds like you covered your bases in asking all involved. sara
