changing from lortabs 10/325 to percocet 7.5/325

how do I make myself more comfortable during this switchover. im getting withdrawal symtoms from not having as much lortab in me. they locked the rest of my script at the office incase the percocets don't work out. I had a few put back on the days I wasn't hurting as bad but I just don't like the withdrawal symtoms.i had to try something new because the lortabs weren't working as well anymore. I have degenerative disk disease advanced ms addisons disease and scoliosis and advice would be appreciated. im aresponsible pain management patient not an addict and have never been released from a clinic but this is hard to deal with.

Once you take a percocet your w/d symptoms will be gone in 20 minutes. Use them as prescribed, they definitely aren't Vicodin. Much stronger. Good luck

I just quit taking the lortabs ct because they locked them up at the clinic. I had a few at the house foe energencys in case of bad weather or a late dr appointment. if I don't take them I cant work because of pain.

Hi mama49,

Your questions and concerns, in my opinion would be better answered in our other forum offered here--the Pain Management Forum.  There are some very informed people on there that could answer your questions about pain meds and how to use them effectively.

If you are wishing to get off your meds, this is the forum for you.  If, on the other hand, you need and want to stay on meds the Pain Management Forum would be more suitable for you.

Either way, you will find great folks on both forums.  Welcome, we are glad you have decided to join us.  You will always find supportive, helpful friends who understand and care.           Mandi

Percs are stronger than lortabs. Is that what you ment? Or did they switch to lortabs from perc? Have you stopped all the meds at any point in time to ***** your pain level? Opiates can cause pain after long time use. Eventually you will just need more and more because the more opiate receptors in your brain will keep opening. What w/d symptoms asf you having right now?
