ciggies

by stannab, Oct 01, 2008 01:08PM
Anyone out there having trouble with getting off cigs as well as drugs?  Many years I was a pack /2 pack per day.  I also drank alot and my heaviest smoking went along with the drinking.  I started smokin less until about 1/2 pack a day except when drinking about 2 times per week.  I finally gave up cigs totally except when drinking on weekends.  All week no cigs and then 2-4 packs on weekend drink days.  I seldom do either anymore.  I do not llike either cigs or alcohol anymore.  Because it was easy for me this way I do not understand how hard it is for others to quit smoking.  Can anyone compare cig w/d to hydrocodone w/d?

the cigs will be the third thing to go for me. first the hydros (done), then the xanax (tapering now), and then cigs. I smoke at least a pack a day. I've never tried to quit, not even ONCE over the last 13 years...ugh.. I'd love to hear some feedback on this too! Maybe it is easier than I think it will be?!

The only reason I smoked as much as I did was every time I would pop 5 or 6 pills, I would smoke about 1/2 pack of cigarettes, I was up to about 2 packs a day.  I quit smoking the same day I quit taking pills, so I honestly don't know how to compare the two w/d's, I kind of lumped it all into one lovely experience (kidding) =)

I really really want to quit smoking too but dont see that happening anytime soon... I am smoking less as w/d makes the cigs taste horrible.  The want to quit is much more prevelant that the actual thought that I am going to quit sometime soon -- which I really want to do before my 30th b-day next year..

I'm actually opposite for whatever reason; i only craved Cigs when i was on Meds. When i didn't take them or ever since I quit Vic's 3 weeks ago, i dont crave Cig's. Weird i guess.

Ok, so I smoke cigarettes too.  I smoke about an average of 15 cigarettes per day.  10-15 per day.  But I'm not even thinking about quitting.  I have to quit my Tramadol addiction first.  Then I'll stop smoking!  I don't drink or do any other drugs though.

No way will cigarette withdrawals make a person feel anything close to the hell a person goes through when withdrawaling from hydrocodones.  And I did cocaine for about 3-4 months, every day or at least every other day, then I just quit.  No Problem.  No withdrawals.  I don't understand how people get addicted to cocaine.  But that's just me.  But I took one drag off my 1st cigarette and was addicted BAM, just like that!  BAM!  I quit when I joined the Army, for 19 weeks.  Then started again.  Been smoking ever since.  Damn...17 Years!  wow i did not realize it been so long  wow ... I gotta get off these Tramadols, so I can stop smoking!  LOL.
