Clonidine is not an anti anxiety medication, but rather an anti hypertensive medication (used to treat high BP), it is Rx'd a lot during detox to help keep BP down, and does seem to have a calming effect for some people.  It doesn't have a HUGE potential for abuse, but it should only be used short term, during the initial phases of detox.  Also, never take more than Rx'd, there is a good possibility you could become hypotensive, which could result in a medical emergency.

Ya my doctor put me on a low dose of this for oxy withdraw 0.1mg twice a day for a month but i was already at 10 days sober! It really helped me to relax and stop moving my legs so much! Careful though i can see how it could be abused there were days i wanted to take a 3rd or 4th to become evwn more relaxed! And be ready to pee 20 times a day!
Best of luck
