clonidine for w/d

my doctor gave me clonidine to take at night with my regurlar blood pressure medicine in the am and i read up on it and it said don't take with rx pain meds so I haven't but I also noticed that it is used for w/d's so how long do you have to wait after your out of pain meds can you start taking it?

The only thing I can say about clonidine is that I know someone who isnt an addict but became dependant on lortabs after a surgery,,not being an addict he had the ability to follow his drs tapering schedule and at the last weeks of his taper his dr had him wear a .02 clonidine patch, then .01 and he finished the lortabs and the clonidine at the same time and didnt seem to experiance any bad wds,,,gl

I am taking clonidine for my Subutex withdrawal. It has definetly helped with the anxious creepy crawly feeling. It also helped with hot flashes.
I wasn't given any info on not to mix it with pain meds, but you may want to call you doctor to find out. Or even a  pharmacist might be able to tell.
