cocaine...

Recently I have been thinking of trying cocaine.  I am about to be a sophomore in college and most of my friends moved from weed,shrooms, and alcohol in high school to coke when they got to college.  It is the new "popular" thing to do among my friends and although that means nothing to me, I cant say I havent been seriously considering it after hearing them talk about how amazing it is.  Ive read the health risks and have considered my addictive personality but there have already been several times where I threw down money to buy cocaine and for one reason or another we werent able to get it that night.  I'm worried that i'm about to make a mistake that will ruin my life, or are there actually people out there who can do small amounts once in awhile to just have fun?  My friends do it about once a month...mostly because of how expensive it is.  Any responses are appreciated.

i am a 25 year cocaine addict. i started snorting at 13 and smokin at 15. some people i know started off as recreational cocaine users, but they dint stay that way. cocaine will slowly start to take control of your thoughts, emotions, and judgement. soon all ya will want is that weekend coke high, and after that ya think , hey y not get high on thursday. thas a party day too right?! lemme tell ya this bro, if ya like ya life, and ya like having cash, pride, and respect, dont start doin coke. i have dealt it , rode on dubs, you name it..... aint none of it worth all the time ive lost.

I think you already know the answer.  DON'T do it....you may very possibly be heading down a VERY dark road.  Simply not worth it.....let your friends do what they please, but YOU be the smart one.

OMG Don't even try it once!! listen to people that have been there and done that.  Oh yeah it seems great when you are with your friends and the peer pressure is very hard to deal with, but where will those people be when you are addicted and have to have that expensive high and have no money??  Newmanagement has the best advice!!

Please read and reread everything that has been written especially newmanagements post.  They have all given you the actual honest truthful facts.  Please dont mess up your life by going down that road.  Hit the books instead and go to starbucks!!!!  You have a whole life waiting for you.                          sara

you just said you are a sophmore and have your whole life ahead of u. one line, one litttle line is all it takes. i won't lie, it starts off great, gives u energy, makes u feel good, but that quickly changes and i mean quick. this drug completely rewires your brain and soon instead of thinking about shcool or women, u wake up after nightmares smelling and tasting coke. u won't go to school, u will look for coke. u will spend any extra money you have on coke, ur thoughts will be consumed with this drug and nothing else. when u realize your in trouble it will be too late and you won't stop. most coke deaths are never listed as drug related, just a heart attack. if you continue to use it will eat away at your nose till you have one nostril instead of 2. you will suffer anxiety, depression and life will change. DO NOT try this drug man, you will regret it. this is a simple choice that can save u a lot of pain and grief. do not mess with coke. good luck to ya man. don't go through what i did with this drug, some don't make it out

in the same question on a substance abuse question.  I think you already know the answer to your question.  Bowing to peer pressure is not orth the rest of your life.  Stop "throwing down" to buy the stuff and when your buddy offers you a line on him, dont.

Ok long story short 1996 graduated 11th in class 3 scholarships summer 1997 got into the "rave scene" h,mmm can you say *******?  had tried pot once or twice literally thought it was boring. Not interested in drinking non smoker. a "friend" at the club asks for a ride, they didn't drive, turns out they felt safer doing "key bumps"  a pile of coke literally as big as this (   ) on the end of a key. She offered me and my boyfriend to try it... we go back to club and I feel all social and talkative though wow.... I AM THE MOST POPULAR PERSON HERE!  In reality I just would not shut up. 1997 school starts 4 mos intothe year boyfriend dies of an overdose , his bag was mixed with ajax. dead. 18yrs old.  My trip  continues because I only deal with people I know. BY THE END OF THAT YEAR. I HAD DONE ECSTASY, LSD, CRYSTAL METH AND EVEN SNORTED HEROIN. (thank god i was needle phobic) my love for coke and ecstasy lasted until 2004. I have lost  at least 14,000 dollars. 6 friends (1 died of blood infection she had started shooting in her neck!,rip alexis, one died alone in a hotel room... rip Joey, one died of kidney failure rip Duffy, and the list goes on...)  , 2 in prison , one left the country i recently heard over fear of charges. Getting hit by a drunk driver and going through 1+yrs of physical rehab to walk again SAVED MY LIFE. I think you are worth more than that. and the drug is worth very little. None of these people were real friends, a real friend will not kill you. Unfortunately the car wreck that broke my neck will leave me on painkillers for the rest of my life... I can stop those without withdrawals though.. I take as needed for I have faced the beast and eventually learned to laugh in it's face. I've got a story also - and it starts with coke in college.....after pot and drinking and such earlier....hasnt really gotten stopped entirely yet - still trying to deal with liver problems and other physical messes from years of use.....I'll be 60 shortly..do something better with your life now . please...............

I have dabbled with opioids a lot even heroin after I started trying drugs (thank god I never injected it but smoked it for quite a while) and after struggling with addiction to one or more of these I'd say to anyone who cares to listen, drugs [any kind] just aren't worth it. But cocaine especially is not not worth it I know from what I have read about it, now I have decided that I am never going to even try any new kind of drugs especiallly cocaine even out of curiosity to "just know how it feels" thanks to all of  the horror stories shared and easily available to dumb ***** like me and even you [why think about something so dumb like trying cocaine, live your life instead]. Little brother I want to give you a hug and sit you down. Here's a story of Someone who isn't me...:)
I have done a lot of drugs in my life, have smoked a lot of pot. I have experimented for sure. ALways said coke was something I would stay away from. Im 37, going through terrible divorce, husbands affair, financial ruin. So me in my stupidity thought I could try it with some friends. Very slippery slope! A few months later, here I am at 4 in the morning unable to stop doing it. I have to be up in 3 hours and can not stop! Really, in a few months it progressed from a social thing  oneco or twice to me doing it with a few friends on weknights (till 4 in morning!)  to buying my own supply. So I do it all night, cant wake up in the morning, then I do it during the day because Im so tired. Then all night again. really a few months! Ive always smoked pot, but that helped me go to sleep! Done shrooms, acid, ex, etc and never had that happen! I honestly feel I ****** myself. I was flat broke when I started, but now I am finding sneaky ways to get the money. Have even had thoughts of stealling stuff to come up with more. What the **** is going on? take a look at other posts I have put up. My nose is ****** up, sleep is terrible, worried I may have a stroke. WOrse yet is that as I am going through this divorce my husband found some and is threatening to have judge do a hair drug test. My lawyer said stop doing it, We will buy you three months in case he goes through with it. Did I stop? No, I do more than ever. Honestly always put my kids first. Even thought of losing my most precious blessings is not making me change. That is how it grabs you..quickly and fiercly.

Trust me! You are young and cool. Stick with anything other than this ****! I was young and cool and I made it known that I didn't want to go near that and noone befriended me. If people did coke at a party, it was in private, wlhich is fine. Maybe they only do it at a party once a month. But what you may not know is how many have moved beyond that and they don't want to admit it. Only one of my friends knows how far I have taken this, and she uses more than me. She told me other day she wants to cut back. Honestly I should be too, but I probably wont and I don't think she will either.

Bring some interesting drugs to the party, nitrus or kind bud. These may kill some brain cells, but you wont be on a very slippery slope. Coke will make you do it everyday eventually. Even if you think you don't have the money. Peace and strength.

Also, it loses its amazing feeling quickly, after you get hooked it doesn't feel that great anymore..you are just amped up and want to do more anyway. Thats what I noticed. Im doing it even though its not the same as when I started.

I do cocaine and many other drugs on a recreational basis. I've never become addicted to anything I've ever tried. I appreciate the high, but I also appreciate sobriety. It's the user, not the drug. You really have to love yourself before you experiment with drugs. If you don't love yourself completely, then forget it. I'm 24, have a degree, diploma, full time job, live on my own, etc...I do drugs like I drink..there's no difference. It's all about the control you have over yourself.

My advice would be don't ever try it as with some people it only takes one line then your hooked ,your life will change dramaticly and you will slowly see everything good in your life go!! all for a small buzz is it worth it your life ask yourself that, i was one of the lucky ones unlike some of my close friends who are now six feet under lucky i managed to break free after loosing every thing including my family, when your hooked on it you don't care bout anyone but yourself meanwhile your family are standing by watching there loved on slowly kill there self ..........................................
