codeine taper or cold turkey help

hi all ive been on codeine long term for 3 years because of a medical conditon not pain !!  just constant diarehha(cant spell it soz lol)
well as ive posted here b4 i began to over medicate i now know this is totally stupid i should have used these as prescribed 30mg 4 times a day.
anyway what has happend is that i tapered too quick i think i cut from 340 mg a day otc meds aswell!! to 112mg ive stuck at it for 4 days tommorow 5 but ive been so ill my problem is i dont know whether its the flu or the shock dosage cut ive had a really bad cough, diarreah (diarrhea), restless ,cant sleep, iritable, crying constantly, everything smells and horrible i havent ate for 4 full days. i dont know whether to go back to 340mg just to see if i get better for now or to continue as i have i gave in 20 mins ago and took a bit extra to see if that helps for now ive bought some kalms sleep u name it ..
my doc want me to only take 3 30mg tablets a day for the rest of my life i guess does any one else have  similar problem to needing them to have a life but u keep over using them what do i do please help
