codeine withdrawal symptoms?

I have been using codeine otc pills for a year or so. it started that i used it for very painfull period pains, and like many people who take it for pain, i ended up becoming dependant on it, and foolishly using it just to relax and to help with depression, which i also have.

I am not a heavy user, but i usually take 5 or 6 pills at once to get the same "high" but not that offten anymore, although i used to do it most days.

I haven;t taken any for about 2 weeks, and i'm getting this weird feeling, that i think might be withdrawal, but i'm not sure.

I started off thinking i was just ill, had a headache, hot flushes, felt dehydrated, and very overheated, felt very tired, and dizzy too, and have a sore stomache, but it's not the same feeling as having a virus, and i haven't been sick  or anything. I also feel kind of nervous, and have a feeling of dislocation from my surroundings.

What could this be? do you think this is withdrawal, and will it go away? I really do want to stop using codeine, and i'm glad i haven't used it in two weeks, i want to continue not taking it, but this feeling is quite worrying.

thank you in advance for any responses.

Hi
I have been taking Solpodol and Analgiplus for 11 months not a lot, maximum 6 tablets a day, but usually 3 or 4. The strength is 30mg codeine, i never ever thought about addiction then last Sunday i had the start of influenza, so i went to bed and consequently didnt take any tablets at all, well the experience of the codeine withdrawal was really bad, i started to sweat at night, hot and cold flushes, hedaxhes, and worst of all restless legs in bed at night meaning i couldnt sleep because my legs were NEVER comfortable, anyway I am on my 6th day without codeine and stting to feel my old self again, i played golf today and managed a few decent swings, anyway best to keep busy while withdrawingfrom codeine, go for a long walk, goto the gym, eat fruit, keep busy all he time and it makes the symptons less painful.........I will NEVER NEVER take codeine again in my life, this hasbeen the worst week of my life....and im glad im now ME ME ME  and not zome codeine  ZOMBIE .
Good Luck and stay off codeine if you dont it will control your life, the withdrawal time i reckon is  7 days  (1st 4 re a nightmare) .
Bye for now  LD
