coming of paracetamol and codine

Hi,

I have been taking codine and paracetamol for nearly four years anything between 5/500 or 30/500. Recently I have taken 32 5/500mg all at once just to get the peace and fuzzy feeling.

I want to come off of this drug but dont know how? Any help appreciated? Thanks

I do feel a lot better today, and do you guys feel that the slowly comming off is the way to go? I know your not able to suggest a tapering schedule just want to be sure that comming down gradually is not going to make me worse? Thanks

If you are in a constantly reducing dosage you can quit using the drug. The trick is not to cut back too drastically so as to avoid withdrawal symptoms. You might have more confidence if you did this under supervision. Your doctor or a specialized association can help you. The most important thing is actually wanting to quit.

Hi & Welcome,

Sorry your post went unanswered. It is a holiday weekend as you know and it is a little slow here today so be patient as more members come on and off and can help you.

Are you getting these otc or are they prescribed by a doctor?
