Yes, I drank it for years (narcotic cough medicine not DM), and just posted on another thread about it. PM me.

If it was narcotic cough syrup...i would imagine it would be the same as withdrawing from any narcotic..what was in the cough syrup?

That is not narcotic...I have no experience with withdrawals from that that substance but i think it will be similar to narcotic withdrawal according to the site i googled....perhaps someone with experience with that can post and help you....have you tried to taper down and quit?  or do you want to CT?  there is info in the heallth pages on vitamins/supplements that can help...keep posting

Yes, they generally have either codeine or hydrocodone as the narcotic cough suppressant....the dextromathorphine does have addictive w/d's and really does a number on your gut (liver, stomach) and it does it rapidly ........ I dont need to remind you that you need your internal organs a lot.....and a narcotic w/d is not a good combination with internal problems.....treat it just like a narcotic w/d - Thomas Recipe and Amino Acid Protocol............use ensure or walgreens brand liquid nutrition if you arent eating. And Matt - this is no joke....i have internal organ damage from abuse and its just not even worth it. Use your head and moderation with your habits.....dump the addiction part.....you dont want something to rule you .. .and your actions....good luck

go can easier because you don't have to kick narcotics. It's still a serious problem though. Stopping is only half the problem, The other half is staying stopped

I didnt want to scare you so i didnt say anything - but mr lucky is quit right. It will take a plan and determination to stay clean - there are non physiological parts of the post addiction process - but this too can be overcome. One step at a time here and the syrup comes first. And please do keep posting. Many people here that have been in your shoes and they will give you the same help that they received from this forum.....I would even bet that avisg would consider a taper plan from this stuff as quit an intellectual challenge. You might want to pm her for advice....shes good! Look forward to reading further posts - pm me if you fel like it - -good luck
